I always wished I had kept track somewhere of the fates of those impeachment managers (Delay, Dick Armey, Newtie et al) I missed that train – so I am going to keep the list of the
2008 back stabbers & villains meeting karma
So far, 3 names:
1. Bill Richardson
Bill Richardson’s Star is Falling with a BIG THUD (Not on VP Shortlist, State Legislators FED UP with Him)
sourced here
and a new slap to him
New Mexico’s governor and former Clinton U.N. ambassador-cum-Energy secretary dearly wanted State. And Obama owed him big-time, both for his primary endorsement and for Richardson’s now-forgotten decision to swing his delegates to Obama during the Iowa caucuses.
Update – after his nomination to Commerce
h/t to dakincat at the Confluence
Gov. Bill Richardson of New Mexico confirmed in a statement released Sunday afternoon that he has withdrawn his name as the commerce secretary nominee, citing a pending “investigation of a company that has done business with New Mexico state government …(NYT)
Obama passed over Richardson for State in favor of their mutual nemesis, Hillary Clinton. Still reeling from what he considered a double cross—Richardson told confidants he had been promised secretary of State—he gamely accepted the consolation prize, secretary of Commerce. But even that was to elude him. . In the span of a few short months, Richardson has gone from a luminous star in America’s political galaxy to a powerless pariah in the twilight zone.and a nice post note with the “total stranger” caption
2.James Clyburn
Rep. Clyburn draws fire for earmarks $6.2M in designations might benefit House majority leader’s family, friends
sourced here
When MoveOn did the Betrayus ad and the Senate voted to censure them, Hillary voted “NO”. B0 didn’t vote at all, mumbling something convenient about “not dignifying”
Well, he “dignified” it all right in his “major” speech on patriotism
a general providing his best counsel on how to move forward in Iraq was accused of betrayal.”
You know, the guy who didn’t cry in his tea cup for stolen elections, conceded his victory and asked the media not to count the Florida primaries because “they don’t count? That Kerry!
Royally snarked by AP
John Kerry says Republican John McCain doesn’t have the judgment to be president.
If that’s the case, then it’s probably a good thing McCain rejected overtures from Kerry, the Democratic presidential nominee in 2004, to form a bipartisan ticket and run with Kerry as his candidate for vice president.
and
For the record, Kerry is not among those being mentioned as possible running mates for McCain.
Of course John should have been here since getting a challenger in the primaries
“FOR THE FIRST time in 24 years, Senator John Kerry faces a Democratic primary challenge. For that, he blames Hillary Clinton.
Lau said that O’Reilly wouldn’t have made the ballot “were it not for John Kerry’s early endorsement” of Obama. O’Reilly said support from unhappy Clinton supporters “was not a huge factor, but it had some bearing.”
And a new slap for John
Kerry’s people say he never had any expectations of being named secretary of State but other Democrats say he made no secret of his Foggy Bottom aspirations. “He’s crushed,” said one Senate aide.
and now WaPo pours salt in that wound with a delicious headline
IT HURTS TO BE JOHN KERRY TODAY
The Massachusetts senator had once been considered the frontrunner to be Obama’s secretary of state. Then suddenly he wasn’t,
Post Scott Brown – Kerry continues to be “the other one”
“He’s out of the shadow of Ted Kennedy and he’s finally the senior senator, and he still is being upstaged by this new rising star within the Republican ranks,”. Even got the cover on this. As he thought things were going to change, he came out about this
“ ‘John Kerry doesn’t get anything done. John Kerry lives in the shadow of Ted Kennedy. John Kerry doesn’t deliver. Blah, blah, blah,’ ” Kerry told the Herald in an October 2008 interview. “I’m sort of tired of that, actually. I’m going to fight back a little harder to make sure people understand that that’s an insult to my staff when people say that.”
Fight, John, fight.
4HOWARD DEAN
Not nearly enough for him, but I take what I can get
But Dean, a physician by training and rebel by inclination, has a keen interest in health care reform and was considered a top candidate for the top job at Health and Human Services. That is, until the gig went to former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, a less volatile player who is expected to be the administration’s health-care point man on the Hill. What did Dean in? It could have been his frosty relationship with Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, who was frustrated with Dean’s efforts on behalf of House Dems, according to the Wall Street Journal.
and we have a new slap at Dean
when President-elect Barack Obama introduced Kaine at party headquarters Thursday afternoon, Dean was 7,023 miles and seven time zones away, closer to French Polynesia than Washington, doing party grunt work in American Samoa.
His allies aren’t happy about it.
” “He said he wanted to be in the cabinet,” joked this source. “So they stuffed him in the cabinet and locked the door.”
And a second rejection for the same desired job
I was pretty clear that I would have liked to have been Secretary of HHS but it is the president’s choice and he decided to go in a different direction,” he said. As for the person who got the HHS nod over him – Gov. Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas – he said: “I think she will be very good. She is a very nice person and I think she will be fine.”
And another rejection, for Surgeon general this time
“Indeed, Dean associates were quick to bat the idea down, saying he has not been contacted.”
And when he says the right things, Dean has to eat his words – again and again – cuz that’s the guy whom he help into power. By fraud.
JESSE JACKSON JR
candidate # 5 in Fitz complaint, did pay to play. So, let’s analyze those tears, shall we?
And after getting out of that one by claiming the honorable mantle of FBI informant, Jesse has a new ethics probe opened
After backstabbing the Clintons for all the good they did to him, he wanted his reward in installing his niece in Hillary’s seat – having made sure Hillary would want to leave senate.
Now, Caroline became a public embarrassment and dropped out blaming it on his health
Sources close to Senator Edward M. Kennedy tell TIME that his circle — including his immediate family — is furious that his brain cancer is being cited by some in her camp as the reason for her decision to withdraw her name from consideration for the Senate seat being vacated by Hillary Clinton in New York.
“It looks horrible,” says one former aide to Ted Kennedy. “It makes him look like he is at death’s door.”
Be careful what you wish for!
That illness was put to good use when pushing Caroline as a “legacy”
Getting bit by a groundhog is a little thing and to be sure, the media coverage was sympathetic. But when you think of it, so was the coverage of W’s mishap with the turkey in 2001.
Yet the photos reappeared in the “get him” phase.
So, I’ll enjoy it waiting for the more appropriate karma.
Mr bi-partisanship with W started counting his chicken a bit too soon announcing his “Anything but Clinton” policy. Alas, his spiteful joy was short lived, as tax problems made him withdraw, and Obma make an apology tour with the media to save face after that
The Diva of talk radio, after calling Hillary names is canned – yet again, and her new station folds
After launching fatwa against Hillary and everyone not supporting The One, it made TIME’s list of overrated blogs for spouting DNC talking points. better late tan never.
And now, they – and other blogs for hire are losing their advertising dollars – sometimes if they are getting off message
Someone picks up a phone, calls a big donor, and the next thing you know…the money is gone
A new hit on Kos when their polls prove to be worthless
I want to feel stupid for being defrauded,….but I did trust them. I got burned, and got burned bad.
DONNA BRAZILE
I have been waiting for the “stop the hate” election fixer here for a long time. Finally, she gave me a glimpse, in her own piece of propaganda
Over the last two months, I have seen my hours cut back, a newspaper column canceled, clients unable to renew their contracts with my firm, and others needing to renegotiate my modest fees. Business is drying up, and despite all my frantic maneuvers to move my little retirement funds out of harm’s way, my 401(k) is disappearing faster than the snow from the recent storm.
And here she is, on MLK Day shilling for Reid and his Negro dialect: African Americans for Reid in Las Vegas ridiculed by The Daily Show
Not much, but it’s a start.
Off the table Nancy who skewed the primaries from day one in the most spiteful way has her hypocrisy on torture became public – and has to try to CYA behind…Jane Harman?
And of course, since last November, she lost the gavel.
The best karmic moment came a while ago when Tweety decided to forego his planned Senate run because of what PUMA would do to him
For additional laughs, his title changing of his book brought back to attention Stewart’s interview from hell
“If you treat life like a campaign … at the end of your life, do you give a concession speech?”
After being celebrated for his popular misogyny, he has a freudian slip and lets out he doesn’t think much of blacks either“I forgot he was black for an hour.” (during SOTU)
The Doyenne of snark has been caught lifting whole paragraphs from a blog called “Talking Points” – blames it on a friend
2004 vice presidential candidate, 2008 presidential candidate of the “two Americas” theme, former North Carolina senator, and wannabe Attorney General in the Obama Administration.Currently, the disgraced philanderer, less than dutiful husband of Elizabeth Edwards, and (after repeated denials of his infidelity) the only prominent national Democrat lower in public approval ratings than House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
And after being ridiculed in that last gossip book, he finally offers one more apology and recognizes paternity
After campaigning so brazenly against Hillary with his polls, his Super Tuesday misses in Mass, Ca, NJ made him not only a laughing stock, but now, in advance, for the Mass election – the kiss of death for the candidate he predicts will win. Amongst B0bots.Oh Shit! Zogby Predicts A Coakley Win.
She may, indeed, be doomed.
You want Cheerleaders? Hire the Buffalo Jills. You want diaries with conspiracy theories, go nuts. If you want this site the way it was even a year ago, let me know and I’ll be back.
Salon’s Glenn Greenwald tweets, “Not saying this isn’t thin-skinned – it is – but what he’s reacting to is very common.”
Olbermann Out At MSNBC
In an on-air farewell on Countdown, Olbermann said he had been told that this was his last show, which might indicate he’d been fired by NBC Universal, which had suspended him in November for making campaign donations to Democrats. But he also said there had been times that “all that surrounded the show . . . were too much for me.”
The reason for the departure was not immediately clear. “MSNBC and Keith Olbermann have ended their contract,” said the network in a statement released as Olbermann went off the air.

Daughters and elections – irony overload « Not Your Sweetie
[…] But the laughs pile on when you see the GOP’s righteous indignation “The administration’s silence in the face of Iran’s brutal suppression of democratic rights represents a step backwards for homegrown democracy in the Middle East,” said House GOP whip Eric Cantor of Virginia. Hey, guys, remember when you stole it fair and square? Twice? Without counting congressional phony results? And it gets better! remember Joe “count all phony military ballots” Lieberman? He is righteous now too: There’s every indication that this was not a legitimate election,” Lieberman said, adding that the U.S. needed to be supporting the Iranian people demonstrating for democratic freedoms. Oh, Joe, I was demonstrating in the streets for my democratic freedoms too in 2000 and I was your voter too…Where was the dedication to democracy then? But the biggest joke of all would be Kerry – who had a typical long winded speech – who also became a later day fan of voting rights “I share the concern of many in Iran and around the world that the announced results of Iran’s presidential election appear not to reflect the will of the Iranian people. The subsequent crackdown only heightens those concerns.” which he followed with the twistiest of ways to suck up to Obama Kerry said the elections just reinforced Obama’s Iran policy. “The spirited debate, huge rallies and record-setting turnout show that the Iranian people want a real say in their government – and that many reject the hostile, confrontational approach of the past several years,” the senator said. “It also reinforces the wisdom of President Obama’s direct outreach to the Iranian people and his offer of a different vision for Iran’s role in the world.” Wow, John! So happy your days of crying in your tea cup are over..But are you saying that the violence in Iraq is some sort of vindication of your idol (who threw you under the bus?) […]

Well, be that as it may. Keith’s firing is but a symptom of the CDS that has MSNBC’s ratings in the toilet. After all, he was instrumental in poking a big plank in the eyes of half their viewers. Those viewers, or at least many of them, have now defected to FOX.
A terrible shame what Keith-O and his handlers have done for any real hope of a Liberal movement in this country.
