Politico reports of a floating (what’s this – a trial balloon ? Public opinion poll expected?) of a VP trial.

It’s a set of ovaries – for you bitter women.

belongs to a Republican (you Republican financed PUMAs)

and to satisfy the Bush’s first term fans – she was in his cabinet. – Secretary of Agriculture Ann Veneman.

But Veneman, 59, has a biography that could be suited to Obama’s unifying message. A Republican raised on a California peach farm, she rose to become the nation’s first female agriculture secretary. In 2002 she was diagnosed with breast cancer, which was treated successfully. Today she serves as executive director of the United Nations children’s agency, UNICEF.

The selection of a Republican could bolster Obama’s unifying message, a Capitol Hill Democrat familiar with the discussion said.

And if some dislike the idea of a woman on the ticket, no worries: other Republicans are lined up:

Other Republicans mentioned as potential Obama running mates include Nebraska Sen. Chuck Hagel, who accompanied him to Iraq, and retired Marine Gen. James Jones.

So, I guess us bitter women better ask Obama nicely to go with the ovaries…oops! I forgot! They wouldn’t listen to us…we are Republican!

I mean it’s true that all these Democrats turned him down, but, dayum!

I wonder: will B0 be as successful at “post-partisan” as he was at “post-racial”?

Update

here’s a nugget of information that ads credibility to this ‘float”

Ann Veneman is connected to George Soros via UNICEF

Oborg, not happy. On a forum, they called the poster of this information “a troll, or worse: a PUMA!”

Here’s mine:

What impressed me most about Obama is how he established the Organian peace with the Klingons, driving nothing but a bus on a road of bodies…
It took a while to pave that road, but now the Klingons are our security guards and we don’t have to use terrorists for that anymore

and in the same spirit this song:

Mine eyes have seen the talking heads kneeling to lick his shoes;
They regurgitate his talking points and tell us that it’s news.
We’ll all be struck by lightening ‘fore we hear opposing views,
But those dupes keep marching on.
You’ll be sorry how he’s used ya; you’ll be sorry how he’s used ya,
You’ll be so sorry when he screws ya, but you dupes keep marching on.
Mine eyes have seen Chris Mathews as he rubs his leg and grins,
And drools just like a panting pup a’humping Obama’s shins,
And like all puppies everywhere forgives all Master’s sins;
That stupe keeps marching on.
You’ll be sorry how he’s used ya; you’ll be sorry how he’s used ya,
Chris you’ll be sorry when he screws ya, but you dupes keep marching on.
Mine eyes have seen the New York Times as it descends to naught;
The liberal pup who inherited it all has driven it to aught.
This murderer of the Old Gray Dame’s a spoiled and stupid snot;
But this dupe keeps marching on.
You’ll be sorry how he’s used ya; you’ll be sorry how he’s used ya,
You’ll be so sorry when he screws ya, but you dupes keep marching on.

Update:

McCain made an ad based on this – and even him seemed to buy Obama;s version when he said ”

“If I had been told by the Pentagon that I couldn’t visit those troops, and I was there and wanted to be there, I guarantee you, there would have been a seismic event,

” but was eventually updated with the truth

But McCain’s advisers seized on the fact that Obama and his aides have given several different versions of why the visits to the soldiers were canceled.

Initially, Obama said the visits were scrapped out of respect for the troops and to avoid making the visits part of the campaign. A later statement blamed the cancellation on Pentagon rules that bar such visits, but a military spokesman later said Obama would have been welcomed as long as he came without a campaign entourage or media.

My original post of 7.25

There’s spin going on that the Pentagon forbade Obama to go.

The DOD spokesman clears it all up:

“We made it clear to him that campaign staff and press would not be permitted to accompany him,” Morrell said of Obama.  “We relayed those ground rules. They made a choice based upon the information we relayed to them.  It was their choice. We had nothing to do with it.”

Which is exactly what MSNBC said earlier.

In an article listing the problems B0 faces the paper stumbles onto

Obama also faces discontent from some of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s most ardent supporters, who are put off by what they describe as a campaign marked by hubris and a style dedicated to televised extravaganzas.

Susie Tompkins Buell, a major Clinton fundraiser, said: “The Clinton supporters that I know are bothered by these rock-star events. These spectacles are more about the candidate than they are about the party and the issues that we care about.”

Amy Siskind of Westchester, N.Y., is a Clinton supporter who said she wouldn’t vote for Obama. Siskind said she was especially offended when Obama hired Clinton’s former campaign manager, Patti Solis Doyle, to work with his vice presidential nominee. Given that Solis Doyle was demoted by Clinton, the appointment was perceived by Clinton loyalists as a slight.

“Most folks feel that the battle is over and he’s the winner, but he’s really acted like a sore winner,” Siskind said. “If Hillary had been the nominee, you would have seen a much more deferential approach to Obama supporters.”

and wait, there’s more

Lo and behold, Tweety is taking us seriously too (McCain’s video must’ve stung):

“I don’t think by any means, does BO have this deal closed with the Clinton crowd. Their contributors, women, women’s group they are not together. The Clinton people are not aboard. The Democratic party is not united and anybody that thinks that it is, is confused or diluted. This Democratic Party has got problems on it’s hands. And it’s BO challenge to bring Bill Clinton aboard. When I see their two faces together in the same room, I’ll believe it. I haven’t seen that yet. There is big time problems in the Democratic party.

Adding another sighting – gaywired:

That sum represented a measly 3.5 percent of Obama’s monthly total and less than a tenth of what Clinton herself raised in April. Most interestingly, only about half of the $1.8 million came from 355 Clinton donors contributing more than $2,000 apiece, which contradicts the notion that Obama is attracting significant support from the millions of small-sum donors from Clinton’s base.

Will Bower, the 36-year-old full-time head of the anti-Obama, pro-Clinton PUMA PAC, estimates that there are 250 PUMA-related Web sites and 2.5 million PUMAs online.

yes, they have been good rejecting McCain editorial, but what they have done for The One lately?

Reports the New Republic:

Around midnight on July 16, New York Times chief political correspondent Adam Nagourney received a terse e-mail from Barack Obama’s press office.

The campaign was irked by the Times‘ latest poll and Nagourney and Megan Thee’s accompanying front-page piece titled “Poll Finds Obama Isn’t Closing Divide on Race,”

As they went around publishing rebuttals elsewhere, Nagourney reacted:

“I’ve never had an experience like this, with this campaign or others,” Nagourney tells me. “I thought they crossed the line. If you have a problem with a story I write, call me first. I’m a big boy. I can handle it. But they never called. They attacked me like I’m a political opponent.”

Hey, Nagourney, at least they didn’t pull your story from the paper

Considering what he did to Gore and Clark, part of me celebrates. The other part of me also celebrates – hoping for retribution.

I think TNR is jumping the gun a bit, talking about divorce and ending the affair.

having seen the W&media marriage of 8 years – I see the similarity and I dubb this one of many moments f “spousal abuse”

I predict Nagourney will praise B0 shamelessly.

Still, this story gives us another bush-like “narrative management”:

“They’re terrified of people poking around Obama’s life,” one reporter says. “The whole Obama narrative is built around this narrative that Obama and David Axelrod built, and, like all stories, it’s not entirely true. So they have to be protective of the crown jewels.”

Another reporter notes that, during the last year, Obama’s old friends and Harvard classmates were requested not to talk to the press without permission.

And the question rises: why did the media put up with this?
