Of course the tabloids were going to chime in the embarrassing moment with identical photos again. The cheerleader Daily News
The so called opposition NY Post stole the headline from AM-NY minus the common sense part
but as Murphy noted – why are only men toasting at that table? (the full “Mine is bigger than yours” complement)
Where is the woman unjustly accused of racism, the one participant that never lost her head in this?
Which reminds me, it’s been reported that Gates himself was one of the first to malign the 911 caller, Lucia Whalen, by yelling at Crowley: “Who you gonna believe? A white woman or a black man?” As a commenter at The Confluence so aptly pointed out, take the modifiers out, and that question becomes: “Who you gonna believe? A woman or a man?”
But then again, misogyny helped put Obama where he is, why bite the hand that fed ya?
Bros before Hos should be engraved on the Obama seal.
…
So is the “happy note” ending of the disgusting titled article on the compromise with the Blue Dogs
Liberals gag over health deal
…he crunches numbers in their respective districts and concludes that
40 of the 49, or 82%, won their races by double digits.
and
many of these Democrats are safer than they contend. People need to start challenging them on this.
So, we have a double hoax, paid for pharma which will give us a crappy law – in the one and only political time when a meaningful reform might have been enacted. And that’s why the ugly specter of misogyny had to be raised against Hillary by all those in the media that propped W – to make sure that it wouldn’t happen.
So, the Progressives went into a room and the key has been thrown away, and no one remembers where that room ever was…
Checking the tabloids for political coverage, I found this on Metro
Landor, a press secretary for Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, resigned after wading into the debate over racial profiling in the arrest of Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr., calling the professor a “racist” and President Barack Obama “O-dumb-a” on the social networking Web site.
“There’s a snapshot taken periodically on the Internet, and all these things are maintained. What if you’ve done something in a prior life that you wouldn’t want an employer to see?”
That stops many from getting hired, said executive recruiter Mitch Feldman.

With everyone concentrated on healthcare and the distractions from healthcare, everybody forgot that there re two wars still going…
To be sure, during Jr times everyone developped amnesia about Afghanistan, but now that we have Jr.jr is as if the whole concept of war has een erased from people’s minds.
So when I saw this headline in an AFP article
Six killed in Iraq violence
I suddenly realized how silent EVERYONE has grown on the war(s).
After describing several violent incidents the article drops the bombshell in the last paragraph:
Violence had dropped markedly throughout the country in recent months but attacks increased in the run-up to the US military pullback, with 437 Iraqis killed in June — the highest death toll in 11 months.
I remember when, by the time W became a lame duck these kinds of news were displayed where people could get at them. And they did get at them – if only for blaming Hillary for it….
Somehow, nobody is at fault now. I guess we are in a postwar society now? (the same way we’re in a post-partisan, post-racial society as well)
“post” stands for “we don’t want to talk about it”
Update
Some obviously still remember Afghanistan as more troops will be requested in another little noted repost
AM-NY, the free paper of NYC started very hip, mellowed down considerably with success but occasionally flashes its brilliance. Since they son’t have a weekend edition, they didn’t get the chance to weigh on the
“mine is bigger than yours” incident (see last pic), so they did it today and it was worth it
The article that goes with it is mostly good too – and I think it represents the views of people beyond NYC as well
