Fresh from the nuts ambush, Jesse’s candid speech gives us more reasons some voters should check out their votes. First he gives it to Hymie Town:
The most important change would occur in the Middle East, where “decades of putting Israel’s interests first” would end.
Jackson believes that, although “Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades” remain strong, they’ll lose a great deal of their clout when Barack Obama enters the White House.
And what about that post-racial society we were supposed to get?
Will Obama’s election close the chapter of black grievances linked to memories of slavery? The reverend takes a deep breath and waits a long time before responding.
“No, that chapter won’t be closed,” he says. “However, Obama’s victory will be a huge step in the direction we have wanted America to take for decades.”
I didn’t think so.
Update
The campaigns weighting on this –
Obama shoves Jesse under the bus – again
“Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. is not an adviser to the Obama campaign and is therefore in no position to interpret or share Barack Obama’s views on Israel and foreign policy,”
and McCain mirroring my own thoughts:
“Literally, nobody knows what Barack Obama’s policies would be if he were elected president, but it’s very concerning that people believe he will not be a friend to Israel.”

Jessie Jackson has no interest in resolving anything he likes things they way they are. It keeps him in business.

Obama losing, would add an lifetime of complaining in their careers.

This is too funny. How does Obama plan to respond to that? With reassurances that Jackson speaks only for himself and that the Zionist rule will continue?

Some of you are not listening.
Jackson is actually trying to give us heads up about an Obama Presidency. I also think he is trying to sway votes AWAY from Obama.
Why would he state these things now…all of a sudden?

Good point. Maybe Jesse has joined what must be thousands of Democratic national figures that are having second (and third) thoughts about The One.

I allow for the possibility that Jackson might want to see Obama lose, but given that Jackson has made anti-semitic statements in the past I doubt that is the case. I suspect he really believes Obama will give “the zionists” the boot.
Except, of course, he is wrong. Barack Hussein Obama cannot be hard on Israel because if he does he’ll feel the full weight of the “so he is a Muslim after all” backlash. Then say goodbye to what Obama values most–his second term.

Mike J,
Oh, that your scenario were the case! I firmly believe that if Obama ever takes office, it will be the last election in this country for a very long time.
And if there are Jews out there that doubt what Jesse Jackson is saying, I suggest you check out Obama’s track record. Israel can expect to be totally alone in the world should there be an Obama administration, and I’m quite sure they should expect a mass exodus of American Jews after a relatively short period of time.

Grail Guardian, I agree that JJ is just expressing HIS plans for what an Obama Presidency will mean. After all, he changed his doodoo diapers then guided him in his career, right? He’s just putting O on notice not to forget what he owes his Daddy.

You mean the author of the term ” Hymmie Town ” is back in the news. Great ! Now he’s letting us know how deep Obama’s Jew hatred really is.

Obama’s nefarious plans are hiding in plain sight. Look at his gaffes -“spread the wealth” “my Muslim faith”, “Acorn will help shape the agenda”, ” 57 states”, “I will stand with the Muslims”.

I’m split down the middle on what is going on with Jesse Jackson. He may have spilled the beans, a dumb thing to do before the election or, maybe he is sabotaging Obama. I hope the latter. I do think that what Jesse is saying is absolutely true.
In all fairness, he has fought whatever bitterness he may have had towards the Jews. While Bill Clinton was running for his first terms, Jesse told a story about the black soldiers in WW II. They were sent to the front lines to take the bullets when the liberation of the camps was going forth. The prisoners didn’t know what was going on, was it friend or foe. When they saw the black faces, they knew they were saved. It was not the Germans but the Americans. He said that the two races had a strong bond and should not be fighting with eachother. I believe he was being sincere.

I think Jesse is saying what he believe to be true. No reason to look for any ulterior motive there.
Maybe he doesn’t believe in the excessive secrecy of the Obama camp?
Stay true to yourself, Jesse! Don’t let ’em bully ya.
