It may be a felony .

Our government is backing BP’s demands that we are not told what they are doing.

Besides, to paraphrase  Barbara Bush, why should we trouble our beautiful minds with images of dead whales, dolphins and birds?

But the Brits did have the last laugh after all. Their money bought off our rights. Happy Independence Day, Obama’s Banana Republicans!

Did I say BP bought off our rights? Nope. They just yanked them, and we foot the bill for the destruction anyway

As Oil Industry Fights a Tax, It Reaps Billions From Subsidies

At the same time, BP was reaping sizable tax benefits from leasing the rig. According to a letter sent in June to the Senate Finance Committee, the company used a tax break for the oil industry to write off 70 percent of the rent for Deepwater Horizon — a deduction of more than $225,000 a day since the lease began.

So, we’re paying THEM a quarter million a day and to make up the difference, Obama sets up the catfood commission so that the greedy geezers replenish the treasury.

The group claims the 'BP logo represents a stain on Tate's international reputation'If you thought BP put all UK to sleep with its “Yanks want our pensioners poor” propaganda, you are wrong.

I noted this Tate Gallery  protest in the LA paper today: tar and feathers were appropriately brought to the exhibit BP proudly sponsors

and then I searched further and found this

Oil painting: Artists gatecrash Tate Britain’s summer party in protest at BP sponsorship

It has photos like this one
Protest: A woman pours oil and feathers outside the entrance to the Tate Britain in central London, which is hosting the Tate Britain summer

Love the group’s name: The Good Crude Britannia. I found the  FB site for them if you are interested

The one good news I take from today’s paper is that our protest was seen. Not everywhere where we held hands. In fact, in only one state: Florida

But the first part of this entry will look like my last one

and from Palm Beach

Panama City with masks

and a little aerial shot on the left in Charlote Sun along with worries of tropical storm Alex

Alex worries in Alabama

and Louisiana

and maybe not? (still calling it a spill?)

and then, there are other worries

and more

Elsewhere, there’s a war

Make that “twin wars” (did they mean to make us think of the twin towers?)

and non-oil-kill woes too

and in Long Island

Sorry to be so down. It did start well though.

Go to the beach!

yes, I know, this was started in Florida in February this year to stop offshore drilling.

And we know how Obama answered on March 31.

And we know the consequence on April 20 and ongoing.

If nothing we do matters, all it matters is what we do.

We cannot wallow in our powerlessness – it’s bad for the soul.

I’ll be in Conney Island today. I’ll have some photos.

Click the image at this post for locations close to you and come.

If your beach is not there, start your own chain with your friends or family.

Who knows? It may be your last chance to take a dip in the ocean anyway…

Since Blago has been neglected here too much, Chicago Sun Times gets cover of the day

Meanwhile, while we know the General resigned, the tabloids didn’t find that out by print time. Ny Post

The Examiner

and Stars and Stripes

.The co called moratorium on drilling (that let through 400 leases in the Gulf already) gets overturned by a corrupt judge

In oil soaked Louisiana, they cheer

so, it now becomes a legal face-off

BP not telling us how much oil is in there? Let’s ask a dolfin! (until he dies and BP burns its carcass secretly at night that is)
