USA Today has another article about the the b0bots left under the bus. I have been keeping track of these, last being this one where some of my readers reminisced about Brazile and her role in this.

Today’s article

Obama’s liberal base ‘disengaged’

revolves around two quotes from her – beginning and end and owes its title to her it seems

“The energized base which transformed the nation and elected our first black president (is) now disengaged,” Democratic political strategist Donna Brazile says. “If this was September, I would hit the panic button.”

Of course, another reading of what she says clearly duplicates Rahm’s err staffer’s dismissive comment from last December

“This is not a time to worry about the base; we’ll have all of the election year to do that,” said the Democratic source. “We’ll have a long list of accomplishments to present for them to rally around.”

We have another dismissal from Gibbs using his favorite word

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs routinely brushes off questions about whether Obama and the Democrats are losing key constituencies, but he says the notion that the president is taking liberals for granted is “silly.”

At the end of a state by state analysis, Brazile pops up again waving the Pollyanna wand and qualifying all this as something to be cured by “spin”

Brazile says there’s time to repair the damage and re-energize liberal activists. “Will it be a tough spin? You betcha,” she says. “But I do think President Obama and the party will be up to the task.”

Did I just hear a Palin paraphrase there? I guess  was the subliminal message about what the spin will be about.

Sorry to bust her bubble (not really) but in B0botland the topic is extremely popular and B0bots will be harder to fool this time around

2. Those who care about ending war, feeding the hungry, educating our children

are not disengaged… We are having to move on. We are not waiting for another speech. We are talking. We are working. But we are not disengaged.
157. Don’t you know that he is playing chess? Problem is we are the pawns.

and

222. Disenchanted, not disengaged.

I still care–I care desperately–but I don’t have much faith in the national political process so I’m putting more energy into other avenues, like local citizen involvement.

Operatives are working hard but incur direct hits

154. Rah, Rah, Sis Boom Bah!

Like, OMG, anyone who thinks Obama hasn’t delivered is just picking on him!

Bzzt! Cheerleading will not change the fact that he has been ineffective. Great presidents do what is not “politically possible.” Weak presidents look only to what is “politically possible.” Failed presidents don’t manage to do even what’s “politically possible.” Obama is heading for category #3.

One even gets some of what Brazile is saying

Donna Brazile, and I quote:

Brazile says there’s time to repair the damage and re-energize liberal activists. “Will it be a tough spin? You betcha,” she says. “But I do think President Obama and the party will be up to the task.”

Tough Spin? Is that what we have to look forward too? Do they not realize that we know what “spin” means?

Spin=Lies :grr:

So, Dona dear, don’t hit the panic button. They’ll be back. Any day now.

Psst! One thing about using Palin again: some figured that they don’t have to go to the polls at all. I believe it’s what “disengaged” means. Be careful what you wish for. Here’s the B0bots again

That “silly” notion is gonna bite them in the ass if they don’t wake up.

156. Robert Gibbs: The notion that the president is taking liberals for granted is “silly.”
Whistling by the graveyard. I’m surprised Rahm didn’t chime in with a Chicago fuck you !

I vote ONLY for tried and tested Progressives in the future.
Lieberman Liberals, Blue Dogs and Centrist need not apply.

114. the notion that the president is taking liberals for granted is “silly.”

Some have even used the word “retarded”.

I was planning to simply make an entry in my Schadenfreude list today, but as I researched the story it got too colorful, and I got too angry.

Let me preface this by saying that I was a big supporter of John Conyers. He show up at our anti-war protests. He acted like a progressive during the Bush years, even attempting an impeachment – and thus revealing hos complicit Democrats in congress were with Bush’s crimes.

It was for that reason, that  his – and his wife’s ugly machinations during the Michigan primaries hurt so much. This felt like a knife in the back to me.

Remember, te DNC chose to discredit the elections of Florida and Michigan as punishment for moving their primaries earlier. Illinois which did the same got away with it – no one even noticed.

The candidates agreed not to campaign in  those two states and in Michigan, Obama and Edwards took their names off the ballot. Thanks to the Conyerses the “no campaign pledge was grossly violated in Michigan.

Here’s from WaPo, the script of their radio ad against Hillary

FEMALE: HOW CAN WE VOTE FOR OBAMA ON TUESDAY?

Rep. Conyers: YOU CAN’T. YOU CANNOT EVEN WRITE IN OBAMA’S NAME. IF YOU DO YOUR VOTE WILL NOT COUNT BECAUSE OBAMA’S CAMPAIGN CHOSE NOT TO PLACE HIS NAME ON THE MICHIGAN BALLOT SO AS NOT TO VIOLATE NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY RULES. BUT YOU CAN VOTE UNCOMMITTED

Councilwoman Conyers: IF AT LEAST 15% OF THE PEOPLE VOTE UNCOMMITTED, THE STATE DEMOCRATIC PARTY MUST SEND THAT PERCENTAGE OF DELEGATES TO THE NATIONAL CONVENTION UNCOMMITTED.

The media of course ate it all up, skipping on the illegal and dirty aspect of it leading to this interesting write-up

A spokesman for Monica Conyers joined Rove in offering a blistering assessment of Clinton’s Michigan performance. The spokesman to Monica Conyers also sought to tie the unusually high “uncommitted” vote to the recent Martin Luther King and “fairy tale” comments made by Clinton and her husband, the former president.

“Michigan was the first time, where in effect, the vote was a referendum on the racially insensitive remarks of both candidate Clinton and former President Clinton,” said Sam Riddle, a spokesman for Monica Conyers, “and the verdict rendered by black voters in Michigan was nothing less than a complete rejection of the Clinton candidacy.”

Thus, the media turned another Clinton win (by 15% in a state where she didn’t campaign but was campaigned against) into a defeat.

DNC had all their basis covered so ultimately, it was the RBC who snatched delegates from Hillary (thwarting the will of hundreds of thousand of Michigan voters) and gifted them to Obama.

If you are now angry, here’s some comic relief: Monica Conyers debating middle school kids in a failed PR attempt (about as successful as Michael Scott of The Office”?

And now, for schadenfreude, today’s headline

Conyers’ wife sentenced to 3 yrs

and some of the colorful goings on in the court

As guards cleared the packed courtroom, Monica Conyers yelled that she planned to appeal. The wife of U.S. Rep. John Conyers Jr., Michigan Democrat, wanted to withdraw her guilty plea, suggesting she was the victim of “badgering” last year when she admitted taking cash to support a Houston company’s sludge contract with the city.

and this is what she did

Conyers’ plea deal was limited to taking bribes to support a contract with Synagro worth $47 million a year. But the recent trial of her former aide, Sam Riddle, exposed a series of purported schemes involving others making payoffs to do business at City Hall.

Prosecutors said Mr. Riddle and Conyers collected $69,500 by shaking people down..

Monica Conyers, you certainly made my Schadenfreude list

WaPo has the latest round in the embarrassing White House-SCOTUS kindergarten scuffle and what sounds like a good thing in Congress about earmarks.

Somehow I believe Washington Times headline on it more

Also in Washington Tomes – the House rejecting DK’s resolution to withdraw from Afghanistan, an interesting article on Obama/Democrats in Missouri and check that headline on Conyers wife - wasn’t she the one writing voters in Michigan to vote “uncommitted”? That’s cause for schadenfreude

The Examiner has the obligatory Rahm story which shockingly contains this paragraph

But if Obama is tempted to blame his current quagmire on his lieutenant — as many of his fellow Democrats are already doing — the president should remember that he bears the blame for picking the wrong person for the job.

Emanuel was Obama’s first hire. His elevation to chief of staff was heralded from the editorial page of the Wall Street Journal to the corridors of lefty think tanks as proof that Obama was going to get tough and be serious about governing.

“Obambi” would have backup from “Rahmbo.”

In NY, Obama Times is Paterson free today, but has a scary article on “uniform standards on education” -

The Daily News has a snarky retraction on Paterson (in lieu  of  “we lied about his tampering with witnesses” – you know, the one that started it all)

Long article ending in

“There is no evidence Paterson has done either of those things.”

How many covers did Daily News have on this? Ny Post? Obama Times? ….Bueller? Anyone?

AM NY is wondering about Elliott Spitzer’s political ambitions – and check the Bloomberg headline – no wonder he wanted to be Mayor – it agrees with him

while NY Post is on State Senate Politics

But it’s Metro that stays relevant, disclosing the banks greedy new overdraft regulations
