In an increasingly lock-stepping B0botland, one finds the occasionally locked thread – locked for the sin of “rehashing the primary”.
In this case, the subject of the “Duh” question is HCR mandates
Was Obama being disingenuous when he campaigned against the mandate
Notice the absence of a question mark.
The “question” reminds me of the handle of someone I liked on that board: “bearfartinginthewoods”. Or as the new Geico ad campaign wold put it: “Does Elmer Fudd have a problem with his “R”s?
What makes that discussion interesting is the gamut of responses:
From “yes, he lied” to “Hillary did shameful things too” and “they were all the same” to “who cares” and to – of course “of course not – how dare you suggest such a thing? We never did trust you!”
Someone posts some links from the debate at the time and the most interesting is the title of a pdf of his campaign
“Punishing Families who Can’t Afford Health Care to Begin With Just Doesn’t Make Sense”
And it’s not like we weren’t told outright
The BO spokesperson told Todd that they would use any means necessary to beat Hillary and if women were offended, they would come back to the party during the GE because their plan was to “play the Roe v. Wade card.” THAT is a direct quote from the BO campaign
Ironic, isn’t it?
No wonder they had to lock that discussion – just as you tube removed the video where I got that still from (MSNBC’s Larry O’Donnell’s on Obama campaigning for public option)

Ouch! The truth hurts sometimes. We knew we was had and you’ve captured it so succinctly. Great catches!
It’s still a discredit to the American people for allowing this to happen.

Someone once said that Obama’s greatest gift isn’t that when he lies his followers believe him, it’s that when he tells the truth they don’t.

When I read those comments I can’t believe those people can claim they are Democrats. That’s not the party I grew up with and voted with all my adult life.

Re perceiving “rehashing the primary” as a sin, I see it as a virtue! And I’m glad there are bloggers doing it. Too many people still don’t know what really went down back then!
And it’s both sad and frustrating to learn that even bloggers who followed the Primary closely, still don’t know about for example May 31. 2008!
So … what about the many who don’t blog but rely on the established media? 😦

When it’s about the truth, I’ll rehash till the cows come home. I am not done with the 2000 and 2004 thefts either!

And love you for it, Edge! 🙂
But speaking of 2000 and 2004, it sometimes feels like the 2000 election has been somewhat redeemed/legitimized by the 2004 election. Something like: “See, he was elected fair and square! Or else he wouldn’t have made it the second time around!”
I keep my hopes up for this part of history not to repeat itself! And that’s why the “rehash” is so important. IMHO.
