I have been waiting for karma for “if you can’t take care of your house” for some time now, so this cover from the cheerleader tabloid made my day

The Daily News article is here ans it’s a mild recounting of the new book that so far was only hailed as Obama’s side on the race – assigned by him to a writer and containing ugly insults and accusations present in this article – like this ubiquitous quote

“We had to figure out how to deal with a former president who was just lying, engaging in bald-faced lies,” Obama said of the former president, a top campaign surrogate for his wife.

But the tabloid picked some revealing tales about the couple

“She was angry at his selfishness and careerism; he thought she was cold and ungrateful.”

And “first time proud of my country” Michelle comes out with another doozie

“She hated the failed race for Congress in 2000, and their marriage was strained by the time their youngest daughter, Sasha, was born,” Wolffe wrote. “Politics seemed like a waste of time to Michelle.”

It’s not much, but the Daily news sold out in 20 minutes I came back to take a picture.

Besides, people who have these character traits, don’t change them just because they were installed in the White House. It must be a ball living with each other – no wonder they protest so much with extravagant and way too publicized shows of affection. I guess they do protest too much

First it was a salvo against the right: Playboy published a top 10 list of conservative women – with such lovely qualifiers as

But there is a way to reach across the aisle without letting principles fall by the wayside. We speak, naturally, of the hate f*ck. We may despise everything these women represent, but godd*mmit they’re hot. Let the healing begin.

Not unprecedented since the Palin carnage, but some tribute to post-partisanship! I believe the list, published on line was withdrawn immediately, but not before the other side got a gander at it and expressed righteous indignation. Only now, some decided to retaliate, by making their own list of liberal women.

The tone is deliberately less outrageous than Playboy – after all, this comes from the aggrieved party. But it has this claim to license:

However, I thought, “Gee, I don’t know the women on the liberal side and they all already think I’m a sexist pig by virtue of being a conservative, so I’m home free!”

And then, more revealing, there is a request to those who comment:

Also, let me caution you — be nice in the comments section. Women in politics have it rough enough without people denigrating their looks.

Even more revealing, the comments section was closed – and not one comment is allowed.

So, I will just make one here, on my blog:

Maureen Dowd is a liberal woman?????

OK, I feel better now. I can resume blogging.

What we are witnessing is not really a war. Seems to me the political factions are trying to follow the Obama post-partisan example and find common ground – the same common ground that put Obama where he is: the demeaning of women. Finally a subject they all can bond over. Hail the Post-partisan era! Misogynists from both aisles, unite!

And since I ended with Obama’s effectivenes, here’s what Obama thinks about the power of his own speeches:

“No one speech is going to solve every problem,” Obama said in an interview with the BBC”

As long as he is modest….
