This is what Dick said

Obama wil not likely cede authority

I know some would say Cheney is not to be trusted and he certainly lies a lot.

But he might be the one who knows his kin – besides he said it in a self-congratulatory manner

“Once they get here and they’re faced with the same problems we deal with every day, then they will appreciate some of the things we’ve put in place,”

“We did not exceed our constitutional authority, as some have suggested,” Cheney insisted. “The President believes, I believe very deeply, in a strong executive, and I think that’s essential in this day and age. And I think the Obama administration is not likely to cede that authority back to the Congress.

To make this all even more palatable – he said it on Rush Limbaugh show.

“We did not exceed our constitutional authority, as some have suggested,” Cheney insisted. “The President believes, I believe very deeply, in a strong executive, and I think that’s essential in this day and age. And I think the Obama administration is not likely to cede that authority back to the Congress.

Now, before everyone dismisses the source, let’s remember – Biden is restoring the VP office but no such word on the POTUS office.

Except for that pesky vote on FISA

The point of all this, darth Vader sees what he did to the Constitution his legacy. And trusts his cousin to guard it. because, let’s face it, his cousin too is his legacy.

He might have found himself innocent and the media sure trumpets up that he was not named in the complaint, but 45% Americans know a bit about endemic corruption. remarkable, considering the coverage – or lack of it

Forty five percent (45%) of U.S. voters say it is likely President-elect Obama or one of his top campaign aides was involved in the unfolding Blagojevich scandal in Illinois, including 23% who say it is Very Likely.

Actually, the amazing news is that even a good part of the B0bots must think by now there wasn’t a connection

Just 11% say it is not at all likely, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey

Which is probably those Bros before Hos internet sanitizers. 11%. Less than W had freepers.

A lot of political capital, to quote W. Happy spending!

After weeks of  “Uncle wants niece”

“She’s looking for a mission in life,” the source said, now that her three children are mostly grown. “Preferably in politics.”

and then “Uncle denies he’s pushing for niece”, they had to overlook the etiquette of surprising her with the Senate seat on Christmas and actually make her ask for it. Oh, the humanity!

Jane Hamsher has a good headline

Caroline Kennedy Lets Political Elites Know She Expects A US Senate Seat

It is indeed one of the things that’s wrong with it

It seems Caroline Kennedy has decided she’d rather have a US Senate seat than a pony for Christmas:

Ms. Kennedy has been making calls this morning to alert political figures to her interest.

Really?  She’s “making calls this morning to alert political figures to her interest?”    I guess it was either that or get her nails done.

Again, I am in a position to remind Jane: it’s not like the public decided to agree on the inexperienced Obama either – he was bankrolled by Bushie pioneers before even the political elite got wind of who that was. But you are perfectly right in saying:

How about the public, huh?  How about them?  You know, those little people whose ordinary lives she hopes to enrich by her presence?  How about getting out and talking to them?  Maybe she could overcome her legendary shyness and tell people what she stands for?  Now there’s a thought.  What exactly does she believe in?  Why does she feel she’s qualified?  What does she hope to accomplish in office?

It doesn’t seem to have occurred to her that letting people know where she stands on important issues of the day should matter, or that she should have to subject herself to public questioning.  At best it seems like a political afterthought — because she hasn’t troubled herself to do so.

The public has less and less to do with those decisions. When they think they do, they’ve been bamboozled by the media anyway with selective repurting, gushing and demonizing.

I am affraid that now that her highness deigned to announce his intentions, Patterson had no other choice than to oblige. Or continue to be ridiculed as a silly blind man by the media: SNL started the opening salvo.

And now Politico is telling us about the fixer Caroline hired complete with Sharpton nastiness about Hillary

Kennedy spoke with Sharpton on Monday, and he said he told her about another “lady that wanted to run for U.S. Senate [who] came to Harlem, to the House of Justice, and they told me she wasn’t qualified; they told me she was just there because of who she was married to — and that was Hillary Clinton.”

Sharpton said Kennedy chuckled.

Oh, how endearing that the guy who gave us Bloomberg by telling blacks not to vote and the brat who went against the primary voters this election get along so well! I feel fuzzy all over! because what All and Caroline forgot in this banter – as in everything – us the voters. We VOTED for Hillary – IN SPITE of the media maligning her. White you’re plotting installing the nasty brat – and I for one will NEVER vote for Bloomberg/Sharpton/media/Obama stooge

New York Times actually specifies there was one name left off the calling list

(One name who may or may not have been on the list: Mrs. Clinton. Through spokesmen, Mrs. Clinton and Ms. Kennedy declined to say whether or not they had spoken. While Mrs. Clinton has said that she would leave the decision to Mr. Paterson, some officials close to her have publicly questioned Ms. Kennedy’s credentials for the job.)

Why would she? This is a family heirloom reclamation from the hands of commoners.

And the latest spin is: Paterson better appoint the brat or we’ll suspect him of Blago the seat

Although she may be helping herself with her New York moves, one longtime operative active in New York City campaigns said Kennedy may also be getting a boost from the scandal surrounding Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s attempts to fill Barack Obama’s Senate seat: If Paterson appoints a star such as Kennedy, he can probably spare himself any allegation that he’s been bought off.

“Post-Illinois, [Paterson] has to make this a big person,” the insider said.

You mean the big person for whom the uncle said he’ll help with the funraising for the Governor, right?
