If the glass ceiling is more intact than ever, thank infotainment news bimbos like Katie Couric for that!
Their contribution to the Year of the Penis has been memorable enough, but she wants to make sure that the stench lingers on.
Revealing her real, personal intentions in her edited, propaganda interview Couric had this jarringly smug and patronizing comment:
“I think she should keep her head down, work really hard and learn about governing.”
After which, surrealistically, she tried to appear humble by saying
But I’m not anyone to give advice to anyone about anything,”
And where did she make those profound statements? To Glamour Magazine – one publication that replaced the news reporters kicked off the Obama campaign plane because their newspapers endorsed the other side. In other words, an accepted source for news in this day and age.
So, let me get this straight – Couric, ho aired her colonoscopy on National Television wants Governor Palin to keep her head down? How about her colon, Catie? Would that be OK to be up? because, Katie, she was a Governor when you were showing America your colon, dear. Maybe not as famous as your colon, but beloved and successful.
The even more outrageous statement from the owner of that famous colon was the advice that Sarah
work really hard and learn about governing.
Yes, Katie, I understand that being a celebrity makes you a better person than everybody else less famous than you. Because, duh, fame? Would there be homework, Katie? Would there be periodical tests where you would assess how much she improved or if she worked hard enough to avoid your scorn? The trekie in me just imagined your fantasy response from Palin:
“Yes, Captain Couric…I will learn. I will watch the lights in the sky…I’ll remember…
Of course, while she may be Kirk in her imagination, she has behaved exactly like the gamesters, using some candidates as well as the voters as play things (that’s for you, trekkies reading this)
Here’s another attempt at appearing humble from the woman who asked that Palin not be refered as Governor:
“I was really just a conduit that allowed her to air her views,” she said. “I don’t want to judge. I’ll let the voters do that.”
No kidding! So, maybe voters could have seen uneditted interviews? From both candidates? Same questions maybe? For boy candidates as for girls? But then again, how mny girls should be up there, in celebrity land? getting crowded up there – you HAD to protect your place, non?

I think Katie/Catty ought to find a line of work that suits her.

Sarah Palin already knows more about governing than Couric will ever know about journalism, even if she (Couric) keeps her head down.
P.S. It’s a sad statement on humanity, Katie, when you try to remove the splinter from your neighbor’s eye without first removing the beam from your own. (Yes, Sarah knows more about human nature too.)

I agree that Couric’s statements about Palin are unprofessional, but I think that the criticism of Couric for having a colonoscopy on national television is misguided. Couric’s action saved many lives and led to the routine use of colonoscopies to screen against this deadly cancer.

She aired her colonoscopy on TV??? EEWWWW…..
Glad I missed that one.
And I’m amazed she had the hutzpah to lecture Palin on how to succeed in the political world.
I second Bert’s opinion.
And in Glamour magazine???? What are we coming to?

Never liked Couric much, her desperation to be part of the Big Boyz Club show has always been painfully transparent (hint Katie: they’re never gonna let you in), but I did gain a smidgen of respect for her when she dared to utter the word ‘sexism’ in the same paragraph as ‘Hillary Clinton.’
She was roundly punished for it by the Boyz, and I guess she couldn’t bear it. When I saw her badgering Palin to give her bookreports on what magazines and newspapers she read like Palin was a 3rd grader, she erased even that little smidgen.
Madelaine Albright is right, there is a special place in hell reserved for women who don’t help other women. But there’s an ever more special place in hell reserved for those who try to f*ck other women over just so the boyz will allow her into the Ladies Auxiliary.

ROFL honora – you are so right!
If you will recall, Couric was pretty much on the verge of being canned this summer (while Clinton was still running). All reports were that CBS was ready to terminate her multi-million dollar and eat the cost rather than leave her whiny ass on the tube. Suddenly, I hear none of that. She seems as secure in her seat as Gibson and Williams.
So it seems obvious what her price was for compliance. She wanted to be the last anchor of the CBS Evening News, and it looks like she’ll have that “honor”. By the time all is said and done, will anyone even remember where CBS is on their remote? I know I’ve forgotten.
But while we are all quick to condemn Couric (and rightfully so), I would ask one other question that might at least move her to the top of the trash heap. What did all the other media shills like Matthews, Olbermann, O’Reilly, Dowd, and such ever actually get in return for their pandering? At least I can respect that Couric had a price and received her payment. The others sold their reputations and their souls and got nothing at all.

Grail, the press trades favorable coverage for White House access. That’s how we ended up with the Judith Miller/NYT and Libby/Cheney love affair, and subsequently the Iraq War. Fox was the big hold out on Obama until they concluded he was inevitable. Once they made that concludsion, it was time for the O’Reilly softballs. They didn’t want to be the odd “man” out for the next four years.
Obama learned how to manage the press from Bush. Reporters like Lizza were made examples of in the election. Remember, there was no room for the New Yorker on Obama’s plane after their infamous terrorist cover hit the streets.
Unfavorable coverage = Zero Access.

I guess that’s directly channeled from Nicolle Wallace, whom I wrote about a few days ago….I think it’s still in the sidebar..no it isn’t so here’s the link, detailing the whole thing…

Why don’t they let this woman become the leader she can be??? Screw Couric and Wallace!!!! And GO Sarah..the 2nd part of the interview with Greta was also ACES!!! They don’t import beef, so they eat the stuff they kill…and they DO care about their environment, because lots of folks actually live off it…unlike the DC crowd who feed off each other!!!
Now, in terms of foreign policy…we have Ziggy, Maddy and a host of others along to try to push O along…with Zakaria as the host….so much for change in the “CLUB.”

Couric is a disgrace to womanhood. She should get off her knees and stop servicing the boys’ club. Why didn’t she advise Obama to learn something in the Senate before running for president. If anything, Obama’s election proves you can be a done nothing/lived nothing person and still win the WH.

Who asked Barky what newspapers he reads? Not once, but twice, insistently? Who said to Barky: “I’m going to give you one more chance to explain what you meant when you said there were 57 states.” F*ck Katie Couric. She sold her soul and has no right to give advice to anyone about anything.

Woman Voter
When she asked if her daughter was coming along while she asked questions was a tell point for me. She was going on the ‘ATTACK’ and once the daughter was out of the way she went on and did it.
Gee, with two daughters you would think she could have been fair. Matt did a post election interview and it was more fair and balanced…but then by then they had ‘KILLED HER OUT OF THE RACE’!
Asking her not to be referred to as Governor Palin allowed them to BIMBO her and of course everyone had to call Obama ‘Senator’. Katie, you lost a viewer of many years. 😦

Good point, Woman Voter. I’d forgotten about that. She was not happy to see that Willow came along, because she was ready to attack. That was very clear to me also. And as soon as they got Willow to leave the set, Couric went for the jugular.

ok, I now officially hate Katie Couric. Obviously, she has done ZERO research on Palin’s record in AK to make such an outrageously insulting comment to the most successful governor in the US. She manages a $11 billion budget with 29,000 employees, and she needs to “learn to govern?” The “liberal” women, ironically, have been the worst offenders of sexism in this election. After the harassment Couric has faced as a female anchor, you’d think she would have learned something, but apparently not. Never watched her, and now, I definitely never will.

Katie’s televised colonoscopy will be her greatest public contribution, if not the only contribution she’s ever remembered for.
Meanwhile, back in the US of A… Our government is pulling another fast one, in case you haven’t heard.
Soon, we will be losing our sovereignty to the IMF when we merge along with Britian into the New World Order. you can read more at the link:

hopefully we will see a protest against this vile chicanery this coming saturday.
Hindsight brings clarity. Any wonder why Hillary was NOT the DNC’s choice?

Katie Couric is an a$$. I’m sorry that I was ever a fan of hers. I’ll be glad when CBS finally gives her the boot.

Actually, of the interviews I’ve seen of his, I’ve been impressed with Matt Lauer. He does a good job. And he’s not an a$$.

I think Couric’s “advice” to Palin, should have been given to Obama, instead, when he had the audacity to throw his hat in the Presidential ring!
“Obama, keep your head down, work really hard and learn about governing.”
What a double standard. What hubris!

You shouldn’t downplay Katie’s colonoscopies, they not only showed her best side, they were also the only times Katie was not full of sh**.

What journalism school did Couric go to again, to prepare for her primetime newscasting job?
Seriously, this woman should be ashamed of herself.

I remember when Katie was working with Matt. Then, she was able to move to the Prime Time. I Celebrated that she had acheived a victory for women. Her treatment and attitude toward Gov. Palin is disgraceful. It appears that Katie wanted to take Gov. Palin’s title away so that she was just a woman and could be attacked. It also shows a lack of respect and it makes me wonder how many women Ms. Couric stepped on, as she climbed her ladder of success. As this was reported in Glamour Magazine, it is possible that the women reading will think this is how respectable women treat each other.
