I have asked this question numerous times.

I have thought during the primaries that the usual suspects are picking the designated loser to their candidate.

Until it became painfully clear that McCain was not their candidate and the fix has been in for Obama from the start.

I have noticed that the same people who pushed Bush on us are trying to force Obama on us now. Well, at least the same people who show their faces.

Who is behind the curtain?

Looking in my archives I fond a clue

The original Politico title was the one I preserved in my blog entry.

B0 secretly meets emirs, publicly asserts “Americanness”

It’s now

Obama makes another stealth move

In Kuwait, Obama was honored at a banquet at the residence of the emir, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah, according to the government news agency.

Obama and the other members of his delegation — Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.) and Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-Neb.) — also attended a meeting with the ermir and a dozen other state and royal officials of the Gulf state, the government announced.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at his Dar Salwa residence Sunday, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Deputy Chief of the National Guards Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

And I wonder again: who organized this trip? A political campaign? The DNC? Not likely either have the scope or the resources.

So, I go back to the stories of 4 years ago about the Saudis launching a PR campaign in US,

Bandar Bush making the talk show tour, with this jaw dropping moment

Tim Russert: Ok, we’re out of time. One simple question. Who’s more popular in your country, Osama bin Laden or George W. Bush?

Prince Bandar: We never put that polling there.

Saudis purchasing stock into CNN… and possibly other media

Our fine Saudi prince also owns shares in Times-Warner/AOL/CNN, which he first acquired in 2002. According to Forbes, the London Guardian, and other media outlets, in 2002 the Prince “claimed to own 1.4 billion in AOL stock…in 2003 he bought another 450 million of AOL stock.” God knows what he owns now. (Yes, he’s the very Prince whom Presidential hopeful Rudy Guiliani humiliated when he refused to accept his ten million dollar donation for humanitarian aid immediately following 9/11).

It still doesn’t contradict the initial impression that the people who brought us Bush are pushing Obama…

And it wold explain Obama’s vote for Cheney’s energy bill (McCain, Hillary voted against it)

And while on the subject, does anyone remember Obama’s wink and nod to the media

“Sen. Obama does not support reimposing the Fairness Doctrine on broadcasters,” press secretary Michael Ortiz said in an e-mail to B&C late Wednesday.

It may explain while even Faux is helping him

And out there, in the world, everyone feels entitled to overrule us

The faster all citizens of the world can vote in US elections the better for us all. We cannot trust the average US Joe to do the right thing.

Update October 21

Further confirmation here

Those 66,383 contributions are the proceeds of conversions of foreign currency, smuggled into the country in foreign credit card receipts, and converted to U.S. dollars.

Of course, when your money is coming in large chunks from offshore accounts, such as hundreds of thousands of dollars at a time from the Middle East and from Third World African countries, then laundered though UBS accounts in Zurich, it takes a bit of creativity to put authentic-sounding names on all of it for the FEC records

Updated with the GE revelation

NBC is owned by someone who stands to make a bundle

Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.
But for the first time a faint tinge of Bush crept into my Obama reveries this month.
