The Confluence has a few photos – and a video was added – interesting how the media put a blackout on this! loved the anti-war people being there as well and that the local authorities were PUMA friendly

This is a comment to a story about the  Shmoonity farce report in Boston Globe:

  • Senator Obama and his people can pitch Unity, New Hampshire and his publicly handing Senator Clinton a $2,300 check any way they want—after all, setting the tone and terms of surrender is the prerogative of the victor. Today Obama can couch it as reaching out to Hillary and her followers but tomorrow I suspect history will view it more like the Gauls who after suffering starvation and agony finally surrendered to the Romans with their leader downright prostrating himself at Julius Caesar’s feet. Or maybe more like the chief of the Incas displaying the conquered chief of the losing tribe and then cutting his heart out on stage in front of thousands of followers. (Just how many of Hillary followers were bused to Unity to view the event?).

Indeed, history is rife with humiliating surrenders. Too bad Senator Obama is not instead looking to another New Hampshire example, the Treaty of Portsmouth that ended the Russo-Japanese War. In 1905, delegates from both sides met in Portsmouth, New Hampshire to hammer out an agreement. A treaty was reached and for his mediation efforts president Teddy Roosevelt was awarded the 1906 Nobel Peace Prize.

  • Ed Rendell tries to be cute?

We have formed HOUND (Hillary-Obama-United-Not-Divided) in response to the creation of PUMA (party unity, my ass — or its cleaned up moniker, People United Means Action).

So, we are asking all PUMA members to curb your disappointment, mute your anger and frustration and join HOUND to help change America. While the PUMA may be more swift and athletic, the HOUND is smarter and more perceptive.

Wait, I skipped the part where Rendell throws us a bone:

One last point – HOUND is not anti-PUMA. We agree with many of your grievances. For example, we, too, believe that the Democratic Party’s nominating process is unfair and undemocratic. We must change the policy where some votes are more important than others and some areas receive more delegates than their number of voters would justify – it violates the spirit of “one person, one vote.” We must eliminate caucuses that are inherently undemocratic and disenfranchise seniors (no absentee voting for those who can’t go to the polls), shift workers and our military. Forcing people to declare their preference in public also violates another cherished principle that undermines our democracy.

here’s some news, HOUND: not only aren’t PUMAs into bones, but dogs and cats haven’t had a history of mixing well. Nice try though.

One problem this PUMA has with HOUND: can one be somewhat pregnant? Just as much as “somewhat undemocratic” If we agree that the selection of this nominee was undemocratic, then why support him? Maybe it’s the party I used to belong to that needs a more appropriate name – the Obamacratic party? or “Bros before Hos”?

There have been several good responses to these – an excellent one at The Confluence and  this graphic one from Dances with Pumas

“We fight them there so we don’t have to fight them over here” – seems to be B0’s strategy this GE according to this

Barack Obama will focus his resources largely in 14 states George W. Bush won in 2004, his chief field operative said Tuesday, hoping to score upsets in places such as Virginia, Indiana and Georgia.

    Obviously, McCain reveals the “so we don’t have to fight them over here” part;

“It’s revealing that Barack Obama has now been forced to expand the states on his map because he’s so weak in traditional Democratic targets such as West Virginia, Arkansas, Tennessee and Florida, not to mention his ongoing problems in Pennsylvania and Ohio,” said McCain spokesman Brian Rogers.

Earth to B0: there’s no caucases in GE! And the “Democrats for a day” – well, are back home now.

Maybe B0’s handlers should remind him of this little dirty trick

“We give them two forms – one to change their registration now for the primary and one so they can switch back later,”BO volunteer revealing the true goals of the campaign

Most of us know that “we fight them over there” is one of the most idiotic idea in the history.

It’s been compared to the drunk looking for his car keys under the lamp post because it’s dark where he actually dropped them.

But then again, as a PUMA, I read this and say:”Bring them on!”

You don’t need no steenkin’ blue states…Did anyone bother to wonder why B0’s primary map looked so much like this one

And why does he think anything will change? (unless the famous Georgia Diebold is now in his service, of course – the Bush media surely is)

Our friend Keith reportedly was enjoying Shmoonity his own way:

KO on his show said that the large contributors/bundlers of Obama – in the communications that the media refer to as asking them to help Hillary’s debt – were told that Hillary’s name would be kept off of all ballots (Pres and VP) in Denver. They were also told that while Obama was really asking about helping Hillary’s debt, he was actually only asking that they “consider” finding donors to her campaign to retire the debt – he was not really “asking” that they find money for Hillary.

Kieth was so happy with this that he implied it as keeping Hillary on a string – she had to do a real good job of selling Obama all Sumner and into Nov during which time Obama would dangle the possibility of helping her on her debt – and if she stayed on her leash and performed well he might shake some money out of his donors for her.
