The Nuclear summit is center of today’s covers
Here’s WaPo gushing even as inside, Dana Milbamk throws a hissy fit over the media exclusion (sorry Dana, I can’t sympatise – maybe you were meant for beer summits after all)
Arabic-language MBC TV’s Nadia Bilbassy had this to say of Obama’s meeting with the Jordanian king: “We were there for around 30 seconds, not enough even to notice the color of tie of both presidents. I think blue for the king.”

.The Washington Times has a few items – most relevant being the options of the social security privatization err debt commission
The answer is given in the penultimate paragraph
Maya MacGuineas, president of CRFB, said it will be clear when they crunch the numbers that “the bulk of the problem is spending.”"It’s a worthwhile strategy to say, ‘Let’s find as many spending cuts as we as a country are willing to stomach, and then go ahead and find new taxes,’” she said.

.The Boston Globe has the GOP criticism of the banking law as a bailout – and this one seems credible to me

.while Boston Herald gives its cover to Palin, tea party – I wish they’d use their own slogans/headlines

Obama Times is gushing over Michelle – I guess those polls resulted in more face time (if partially covered) for her in the media

.In DC, the Express goes all out

.USA Today has a headline on Neil Armstrong attacking Obama’s slashing NASA funding

.and in NY NY Post has an expose of state employees graft and slack

In The Globe picture of nuclear summit, Obama at arm’s length with a leader. Same arm’s length yesterday in your post which showed him with Angela Merkel. There’s something weird about how he uses his arms – reminds me of the way dogs use their front legs.
Former topic observation: ‘Tis amazing how the ethics accusations have died down for Governor Paterson now that he’s out of the gubernatorial race. Obama is so obvious; how does he get away with these clumsy charades? Sigh. I know what it boils down to: he’s able to fool too many of the ordinary folk. And MSM.

“Critics see hype” What else is new. It looks like BO’s grand, unprecedented & historic nuclear summit will have all lasting effects of those styrofoam Greek columns at Invesco.
I watched Greta last night, and along with all the other crap they stuck in bill, it turns out that individual states are too broke to handle Obamacare’s temporary high risk pool.
Michelle’s message is self-determination! ROFLMAO! Sez the woman who’s only living in the WH because she and her hubby had EVERYTHING in their miserable lives handed to them on a f’king silver platter.

Wow, talking about Palin:
Sarah Palin Has Earned an Estimated $12 Million Since July
http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/sarah-palin-earned-estimated-12-million-july/story?id=10352437
I don’t like her politics, but good for her. She did it all on her own, and she did it with MSM’s knives sticking in her back.

Not to worry cj, Jerry Brown’s investigating Sarah and her speaking fees now. Says it isn’t political
Yes, agree or disagree with her politics, ya gotta respect the girl getting out there with people willing to pay to hear her speak and read her book.
As for Michelle, she’s getting her foreign policy experience so she can run for the Senate (like Hillary did!). It’s true, I’ve read it on the liberal news blogs

No, you have to be kidding – right, you’re kidding – or maybe not. What on earth does Michelle have to offer the proletariat, other than instructions on how to grow arugula?

LOL, not sure what her husband had to offer, so she’s about as qualified. The Bobots still think she’s AWESOME, every now and then someone suggests she should skip a Senate run and go directly for President.
You see, if Hillary could do it………. /snork. I’ve got to stop reading bobot sites and just wait for edge’s roundups

I just heard about Jerry Brown! How stupid! How mean spirited can you get. Gawd, the Dems just seem to go out of their way to embarrass themselves lately.

The state of California is broke, but there is money to be made in garbage picking. What is Jerry Brown thinking? Going after Sarah Palin is not going to win him the vote. Maybe he is trying to come up with reasons to why he’ll lose. We don’t want it to be 0bamas fault.

ERRRR….she did it with a helluva lot of help and promotion from FAUX News!
She’s just another media creation, too bad, I had some hopes…

Yes, I agree FOX helped…a lot, but even so, that was just one cable station promoting her, versus everyone else in the media universe who was hell-bent on her destruction.
Like I said, I don’t like her politics, and I also agree that she’s a media creation, just like BO. I think the big difference between them is that she honestly believes what she’s saying, and the O obviously does not.
This is why I’m disappointed in her—>she chose to stay shallow. I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt about leaving office because the opposition was drowning her in lawsuits, but she could have quit and then taken the time to immerse herself in the issues. She could have developed into an activist who had more substance & more credibility, but instead she took the short-cut to wealth & celebrity, leaning only on her natural charisma & RW one-liners to charm the crowds.
That’s why I can’t listen to her anymore. She may believe what she’s saying, but I’m not convinced that those beliefs rest on any valid foundation at all.

fredster…..have you seen Al Gore’s contracts ?
but we weren’t discussing Al Gore were we?
Did you read this part of the newz article?
Something similar happened in New Orleans where the Orleans Parish Democrats (or some group) were going to use a facility at the University of New Orleans (renting it) and the Democratic nominee for Senator Vitter’s seat was announced as “stopping by”. Vitter’s office contacted U.N.O. about using a facility for “partisan” purposes and the location had to be changed.
Now not quite the same, but the use of university facilities was the key in nola. The article says the Stanislaus Foundation (the non-profit) violated public laws. Most likely it was because of the use of a public, i.e. university facility. Probably would not have been a big deal if a public facility was not being used.

I don’t know Fredster, the foundation claims that they’re exempt from the disclosure rules:
…”He previously told the AP that the contract’s strict nondisclosure clause prevented him from sharing it, and that university foundations and other auxiliary organizations were not subject to the same public records requirements as the university itself.”
Brown’s within his rights to investigate, but if I were the GOP, I’d start pulling up the files on every big name Dem speaker I could find, because I seriously doubt that Palin’s is an isolated case.
