They all jumped up on that pathetic attempt

especially that they got Obama’s blessing to do so -

some distraction needed from his “Mishun accomplished?

..

Just as Krugman tells progressives to pat themselves on the shoulders because Tiny Tim won’t be refused coverage if he gets sick in 2014 (rather than now)  some of them are starting to really see the whole picture.

Like this one

Let’s face facts – Obama got in because the corporations WANTED him in

While there’s no mention of Obama’s prior resume that got him the gig (because that would be proof they were idiots) there’s a lot of awareness

Let’s be real here. NO ONE gets to be president with out the support of the corporations. Obama literally came out of no where and quickly rose through the ranks in an incredibly short period of time. You know what that means? He had BIG MONEY backing him. I don’t care what anyone tells me – no one rises through the ranks that fast to the office of president with out the full 100% support of the top 1%.

Yup. B0bots thought it was their piggy banks that amounted to one billion dollars

- now a few are finally doing the math. That takes me back to the January 2008 I asked Why are the people who brought us Bush pushing Obama?. Anyway, today’s thread stipulates

Health care reform was about one thing – preventing bankruptcy of the health care sector. I firmly believe the country is heading for rough economic times which we haven’t seen since the early 1900′s, and this was designed SOLELY to keep at least some health care going in this country during the coming 2nd great depression.

You know how that is done? A LOT more money has to be sucked up from the masses and deposited in the health insurance bank accounts. Get this clear – it was NOT about YOU getting affordable health care. It was about keeping it generally available to the Americans who have at least “some” value to the corporations.

Yes, and in terms of politics, it works like this: everyone in the industry knew Hillary would get elected, they knew her plan, so they had to get a shill who could also claim “historical unprecedented” change. And that’s how Obama was created and sold in those blackberry exchanges between Karl Rove and Donna Brazile back in 2003.

And is this self-criticism?

It’s so obvious what is going on and the direction we are being led it is pathetic. Yet 99% of the population doesn’t seem to have any clue that they are being played for fools.

Seems more like criticism of those still asleep.

Another very astute awaken B0bot links the present Health Club for Men scheme to the previous trick played on us with the 401ks

It’s no surprise that the 401-k came along as the Boomers entered their prime earning years. Those were also the merger & acquisition years, so it made the 401-k seem like a fantastic way to avoid losing a pension as some companies merged & others flopped dead in their tracks.

Substitute “Health Insurance corporations & Pharma” for “Wall street” and we’ve got pretty much the same deal going on here, folks.. with a twist ..

the twist?

fines if you do not participate, unregulated cost increases if you do.

Meanwhile, the 1984 style propaganda is ratcheting up

Senate bill could hurt insurers at least initially

Oh, noes! How so?

But the proposed fines are too weak and the subsidies too meager to truly motivate people to buy insurance, Laszewski said. This means the people most motivated to buy coverage through these exchanges will be those who already have health problems — who are money losers for insurers.

Damn you sick people! We want healthy paying people, with big fines if they don’t! Oh, woe is us!

So you see? Krugman was right! So what if over half of the population is losing their right to choose? It’s only women! Pat yourselves on the back progressives, the big bad insurers are hurting

….

I knew I ‘d find something NY style in the tabloids today. Even if NY Post’s cover story comes from Rome

Daily News delivers too with a hell of a story:

here’s more if you care.

God rest ye, merry goodfella.

And don’t miss “An Obamamas Carol” ..

B0bots keep crying – they are oh, so shocked that Obama tells them the  public option was a figment of their imagination.

They stuck their fingers in their ears and yelled la-la-la-la when Obama praised Reagan, Blackwater and voted for FISA – Hillary was worse usually ended any thought about that. Here’s some of what they willfully missed:

“That Reagan’s message found such a receptive audience spoke not only to his skills as a communicator; it also spoke to the failures of liberal government, during a period of economic stagnation, to give middle-class voters any sense that it was fighting for them. For the fact was government at every level had become to cavalier about spending taxpayer money. Too often bureaucracies were oblivious to the cost of their mandates. A lot of liberal rhetoric did seem to value rights and entitlements over duties and responsibilities.

This was a clue from his book

How many B0bots remember when Obama went on Fox – O’Reilly and gushed about the GOP good ideas. When asked to specify, he pretty much described privatization.

As recent as August, Obama trivialized his base in a speech to the GOP

“some people on the left got a little excited about public option”

Krugman, who was still shrill at the time commented

he Obama administration — which seemed, over the weekend, to be backing away from the “public option” for health insurance — is shocked and surprised at the furious reaction from progressives.Well, I’m shocked and surprised at their shock and surprise.

Obviously, Krugman got over it, while B0bots kept covering their years and yelling la-la-la

And, in spite Feingold’s repeated warnings, precious few became aware that this was done by design

Are you feeling like a chump yet?If you’re a good progressive, and you wanted single-payer health care for all, or, second best, Medicare for All Who Want It, or third best, a robust public option, or fourth best, a paltry public option, now you’ve got nothing, nada, zippo.

Has it ever crossed your mind that this is the way President Obama wanted it to be?

But some are still blaming Lieberman forgetting the very special relationship he has with Obama or, like the fast talking politicians tell them, hope “it will get fixed”. Yeah, cuz the will for fixing is right there!

The funniest self delusion is comparing this bailout with Social Security that improved over time. But as the doctors for single payer explain

But where Social Security established the nidus of a public institution that grew over time, the Senate bill proscribes any such new public institution. Instead, it channels vast new resources – including funds diverted from Medicare – into the very private insurers who caused today’s health care crisis.

Expecting this monster to grow into something good is like expecting W’s “clean air act to live up to its name. Or his conscience rules to grow into a source of freedom for women (You do know the Senate amendment to buy Nelson’s vote is turning W’s executive order into law, right?)

So yeah, we have to be optimistic, because when it comes to freedom and justice, things always get better. Just look and Equal Rights Amendment, choice rights, DOMA and DADT..And don’t forget FISA and Patriot Act. They all are getting better as we speak

Looks B0bots figured another one

OMG. I finally realized WHY OBama LIED so Publicly about the Public Option!

It is the ability to chalk one up in the WIN column that is most important

and as shills come with “proof” he didn’t lie someone posts this

35. We have some reports about what Obama did behind closed doors.
…like removing Single Payer from the agenda and forbidding discussion of Single Payer

…like sitting down with lobbyists from the Industry and locking out the Progressive Caucus and members of the community that supported Single Payer.

…like having Pelosi remove the Kucinich Amendment AFTER it had passed in committee.

…like telling Reid to give Lieberman everything he wanted.

But it is NOT what he did behind closed doors.
It IS what he DIDN’T DO in public.

After the election, he was The Leader of a “CHANGE MOVEMENT”.
Had he called US to Washington to STAND in front of the Capitol with HIM and DEMAND a REAL Reform Bill, MILLIONS would have answered the call.
He didn’t.
He sat down with the Health Insurance and Pharma Cartels and crafted a bill that gave THEM everything they wanted.

But that is NOT what this thread is about.
This is about claiming he never campaigned on the Public Option, when everybody KNOWS he did,

….

Only two of them gave it some page one space

Newsday

and the NY Post which brings up the yet untold issue: what the bill does to states – NY in this case

Bloomberg and Gov. Paterson have both been railing about what they see as the bill’s destructive impact on New York, while New York Sens. Gillibrand and Chuck Schumer have been praising the plan.

Paterson has called the legislation a “disgrace,” claiming it will “devastate” state medical care and cost New York more than $1 billion a year in Medicaid funds

Hizzoner this week said the Senate legislation could force the closure of “hundreds” of health facilities.

Of course, the Senators defended the bill (and Chuck Schummer – I’ll remember your glee at ripping women of their right to chose – no more votes from me!)

I can’t imagine it will be much easier for other states (except maybe Nebraska and Louisiana)

update

To answer the -justified- questions about Bloomberg’s silence on HCR until now, this tidbit about the Mayoral elections might help

Obama’s voice, praising Bloomberg was also featured on some of Bloomberg’s  phone calls to me yesterday (the ones not from NARAL)

or maybe this one

In the New York Mayoral race, where Obama avoided pronouncing Thompson’s name in the tepid “he’d have to endorse the democratic candidate”,
