Murdoch’s rags on both sides of the ‘pond” were very fast to cast the touching of the Queen as “refreshing”. I think they need to dance a bit faster around the bowing to the Saudi King. It’s an iconic image which I store in my brain next to W’s holding hands with one of those oil kings. As it was remembered in this B0bot thread, defending the bow
One poster actually remembers the 9.11 terrorists being mostly Saudis. Everyone else is pleased (humility, politeness, you name it)
Why wasn’t Obama “refreshing” with this guy?
Why, silly, this was a boy royal, not a girl first of all!
As for the second reason, we have 2 wars to vouch for.
And the one in Afghanistan is perking up
President Barack Obama is weighing whether to deploy 10,000 more troops to Afghanistan but lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are questioning an increased commitment and seeking specific measures of progress against the deteriorating conditions in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
When President Obama took office, the U.S. had about 38,000 troops in Afghanistan. The White House has announced plans to send 21,000 reinforcements in coming months, increasing the tally to almost 60,000.
Mr. Obama will decide this fall whether to order 10,000 more troops to Afghanistan next year, senior Pentagon officials told a Senate panel Wednesday, bringing the total to almost 70,000.
And why not help the regime we installed there? After all, they are as progressive as Obama can expect them to be. Per AP
A new Afghan law makes it legal for men to rape their wives, human rights groups and some Afghan lawmakers said Thursday, accusing President Hamid Karzai of signing the legislation to bolster his re-election prospects.
One of the most controversial articles stipulates the wife “is bound to preen for her husband as and when he desires.”
“As long as the husband is not traveling, he has the right to have sexual intercourse with his wife every fourth night,” Article 132 of the law says. “Unless the wife is ill or has any kind of illness that intercourse could aggravate, the wife is bound to give a positive response to the sexual desires of her husband.”
And this is stuff worth going to war for. And even bowing to.
After all, Obama got high praise for his…good looks
“That’s my man right here,” President Obama said this morning at the G-20 summit as Brazil President Luiz Inacio Lula de Silva approached him. “Love this guy. He’s the most popular politican on earth. It’s because of his good looks.”
of course, this is also the guy who said
the global economic crisis “was fostered and boosted by irrational behaviour of people that are white, blue-eyed, that before the crisis looked like they knew everything about economics.”
‘Now they have demonstrated that they don’t know anything about economics,” said Lula, adding that “no black man or woman, no indigenous person, no poor person” can be held responsible.
So, not only is Obama good looking, but he is also not responsible for anything bad. So there.

OMG, POTUS should not be bowing that low to anyone.
FLOTUS should not be treating the Queen as if she were her l’il ole granma on their first State meeting together.

I don’t think Obama is good looking. He is ugly, inside and out, from the ears, moles, and born alive infanticide stance. Ditto for MicHELLe.

A bare nod to the Queen, and a scraping bow to an oil-rich Saudi King with nefarious ties. Typical Obama, maybe he needs another mentor, now that Tony Rezko’s out of his life.
