I was going to drop this subject, I really really was.
But the Kennedys are not! Check out the NY Post headline:
Kenedys livid as Gov asked Caroline to “Lie”
and it goes on
An “apoplectic” Kennedy family is seething over the rough treatment that heiress apparent Caroline got from Gov. Paterson’s office and is spoiling for revenge, several sources close to the clan have told The Post.
and there’s more
“Ted is furious. The family is furious. The Kennedys are now against the governor.”
Well, I am for him. Besides those rumors that came from the governor’s office which I wish they didn’t, this is the alleged crime:
Among Paterson’s offenses was a request that Caroline lie about her unexpected withdrawal for “personal” reasons, according to NY magazine.
“You can’t withdraw. You’ve got to stay in this thing, and I’ll just not pick you,” Paterson reportedly told her over the phone late Wednesday.
Of course, this is just speculation as the dueling “it was her” “it wasn’t her” are still going on.
Interestingly, only days ago, Ted was furious with Caroline for using his illness as “personal reasons But, hey, Ted pretended to be angry at the Clintons and justified the ugly insinuations of racism when he endorsed Obama by the “Johnson was instrumental in passing the Civil Rights” statement. So, there’s a pattern here of picking reasons for unprincipled actions.
But now “Guv’s mess” appears as headline in several papers and NY Post has a slanderous article about the governor’s trip abroad in the same issue.
The nerve! To stiffle the princess!

I was waiting for this.
I sure hope New Yorkers will stand behind their Guv on this one. He sure went out on a limb for you (and for all of us.)

This is exactly the reason I have never understood why the people of Massachusetts keep electing this guy. He is so full of himself and is totally disgusting. He is in it only for the glory. He really does think of his family as royalty. And they made their money from boot-leg whiskey and other ways all tied back to Chicago thuggery. I watched the special on PBS about it last week. This was news to me, but certainly explained the tie-in to the new administration.

delurking once again. Oh for gosh sake, who are these “sour-ces close to the clan” and in what universe do they think this kind of trash will help Ms K? It only reaffirms my previous comment about how these reports reduce her to a spoiled, brat who feels entitled – they should have kept their mouths shut and let this die through attrition. Gone is her mystique, gone is any thoughts about her graciousness. Now she is tabloid fodder. I hope it was worth it. As far as the Governor is concerned, he appears to be a principled public servant.
It’s rather ironic that the Kennedy family, with all the previous rather shady dealings (Chappaquiddick, Wm. K Smith rape, JFK /RFK involvement with Monroe, JK annulment, EK divorce, Michael K allegations of sexual assault etc) would want, indeed court this type of attention I.E. calling someone else unprincipled because they didn’t get their own way. Sad really. So much for Camelot…..which reminds me – I’ve always wondered why, if King Arthur was such a wonderful guy, Guinevere went off with Lancelot.

Interesting read in the link about Paterson’s upcoming “junket” to Davos, Switzerland (think lots of money). Perhaps he’s going to report in to the Bilderbergers/Tri Lats exactly what happened and why. He may be in more trouble than we think with the real “powers that be”. I’m really starting to like this guy!
HT,
The classical male nightmare! Here’s a guy who is rich, powerful, good, moral, brave – literally the epitome of a good man, and Gwen trots off with sexy young studmuffin Lance. Any wonder why things like Viagra, Cialis, and male enhancement drugs have become a billion dollar industry? Seems we may hold the ultimate power after all as women…

As I said before, the Gov., was looking pretty good until his office dropped the bombs about her and did a little mud dunking. I would say, fire who ever dropped those allegations out to the press and be done with it. I have been in high level interviews and once heard some darn good non-sense but have never revealed it because it was in an interview setting. So, the Gov., staff blew it, Caroline deserved to have those conversations kept private if they are even true to begin with. The fact that she is woman, may have had some thing to do with the staff person feeling it was ‘their’ right to blemish her.
There is a fine line in what one says publicly and what one says in an interview setting. So, the level of decorum was dropped and someone must answer for the breach of trust and confidence.
Yea, I had a bit of fun with her ‘like and you know’, but this breach of trust/confidence will prove to be problematic in the future for the Gov. Trust goes a long way and the Gov., needs to make this right, he did good, but he needs to make it even better.

Interesting missing piece is that it doesn’t mention any support from Obama for her senate bid? Hemmm, yet she went out and campaigned for him…
Ah tragique, faire de la placé sous ‘par le bus’ pour Caroline…

Yes, Palin is still being asked who is Trig’s mother? They really went after Palin with both barrels blasting. Misogyny is an ugly thing indeed, and more so when those partaking in it call themselves ‘progressives’. I did note that Caroline didn’t condemn the misogyny against Clinton or Palin.

I saw that the effigy used at Halloween to “hang” Sarah was for sale on the internet. One of the reasons I hate O and his Mo is that they turned a blind eye to all the terrible attacks on Gov. Palin and her family. I changed my Party to Republican because of the obvious low-class actions from Obama, Mo, Pelosi, Biden, and on down to Brazille. Now, MicHELLe is mad that dolls bear her daughters’ names. If you make your kids stars you expect things like this. I admire former Presidents who shielded their kids, but apparently the O’s are going to give running commentary about their new dog, their scavenger hunt with special celebrities as the prize, and on and on, continuing the idea of making Bo more acceptable to us. No way. They should protect their daughters’ from the public eye. Fussing about the dolls just makes more chatter.

O didn’t just turn a blind eye to the hateful attacks on Palin. He initiated them and was so into it, his handlers had a hard time prevailing on him to delegate this. Eventually he did.

Woman Voter,
I agree that after CK withdrew it was unsporting for the media to introduce scandal about her. Of course the media would claim it came from Paterson’s staff. But what evidence is there? If Paterson’s staff even knew these rumors, they must have heard it from someone.
We know now that the media knew about Edwards’ affair for months and covered it up. Maybe they knew these CK rumors also, and decided to use the story as soon as they knew CK would not become Senator.
Why believe anything in the NY Post, anyway?

The rumors about her affair have been out for over a month now. She’d have been subjected to much worse had she actually been selected for the Senate seat. It’s time to forget about Princess Caroline again for a few decades.

GG – Yes, they have. Paterson’s office did not initiate them. Unnamed sources, my patootie.
In any case, Ted Kennedy is becoming politically irrelevant. His last hurrah was shoving the fake JFK down our throats in a desperate hope that his precious dynasty would continue. But Obama is political poison. He is going to take Ted and Caroline down with him. Good thing RFK Jr. always supported HRC, or he’d be toast as well.
The bottom line is, we don’t sell our Senate seats in New York. This ain’t Chicago and we don’t tolerate the thuggish intimidation tactics favored by the Obamacrats.
There is a big fight going on for the heart and soul of the Democratic Party: the FDR/Clinton Democrats versus the Obama for America crowd. I was thinking the Party was dead forever, but now I’m not so sure if we’ve got people like Paterson in it.
Clinton 1, Obama 0.
