and indulges in attacking…Hillary:
Sen. Hillary Clinton’s (D-N.Y.) campaign provided the script, which included guilt by association, demonization of people Obama knew (or might have known), creepy questions about his background and dark hints about hidden secrets yet to be uncovered.
Nevermind that other than answering a question in a debate, Hillary never even brought him up.
Then he attacks Palin
When Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin got hold of it, the attack went viral. At a now-famous Oct. 4 rally, she said Obama was “pallin’ around with terrorists.” (I pictured us sharing a milkshake with two straws.)
complete with the Secret service debunked lie
The crowd began chanting, “Kill him!” “Kill him!” It was downhill from there.
And then there’s so much irony, my head may explode
We might find hope in the growth of opposition to war and occupation worldwide. Or we might be inspired by the growing movements for reparations and prison abolition, or the rising immigrant rights movement and the stirrings of working people everywhere, or by gay and lesbian and transgender people courageously pressing for full recognition.
If you say so, Bill. Only your pal got the working class marginalized from the democratic party and the gays discriminated in 3 states, so, as usual, your “hopes” become other people’s suffering
Updating this with a great summary from Boston Boomer at the Confluence
Good old Bill Ayers. Now that Barack Obama is President Elect, Ayers has decided to tell his sad story of victimization. Oh, he is so tortured and put upon. Poor Bill. He and a bunch of his wealthy, entitled friends managed to destroy Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) in no time at all by creating the Weatherman group and advocating the violent overthrow of the federal government. They ruined the reputation of the peace movement too. Lots of people back then assumed the Weathermen were CIA infiltrators. Bill Ayers never spent a day in jail, and now he’s a tenured professor. In fact lots of the ex-weathermen are professors, and they’re all pretty wealthy. They aren’t exactly living up to their socialist ideals, are they?
and Cannon has a great entry as well
Many ’60s student radicals will tell you that the perpetual game of spot-the-spook helped to cripple any attempt to get things done.
snip
So how do you spot the spook? Look for three factors:
1. Infiltrators push for violent and illegal action.
2. They rarely or never serve time, even though everyone around them seems to get busted.
3. They somehow have plenty of cash.

RCP:
Can it get uglier? I hope so, because I think there is more to know about Ayers.

Yeah. Just a guy in the neighborhood.

He feels vindicated.
Not until he’s tried, sentenced and either imprisoned and/or executed will there be vindication for this terrorist.
But, of course, he feels vindication because the man whose book he ghost-wrote won. That same man essentially laundered government monies into so-called “education” projects.
Ayers is just one the fleas that Obama got by laying down with despicable dogs.

What a sad read. Poor Ayers, going about his business, then ALL OF A SUDDEN he becomes the focus of the POTUS campaign.
And, this is the really sad part, he’s been turned into a “cartoon character”. Oh noes, the humanity.
It gets worse. People call and email him with a lot a negative comments. Some even threatening (thankfully the pigs, oops, cops are right there to protect him, even joke with him)
Of course, none of this occurred because he’s an unrepentant domestic terrorist who is quite close to the now president elect of our country.
Of course not. It’s because of Hillary and Sarah.
Ayers sounds like one of the most unpleasant people to inhabit this planet, and that’s saying something.

Bill Ayres was born in 1944 – in 1962-63 SDS was formed to protest the increase in ‘Nam advisers from IKE’s 2000 to JFK’s 16,000. Bill was 18 – Bill was not there in the protests – I was. Bill is a con-job, the same as Obama.
Hillary commented on Obama sucking up to Ayers so as to get a toe-hold via Ayers in South-side politics – and this is wrong. Sorry Bill but you are wrong now just as you were wrong when you lived off of others and tossed bombs at buildings with people. Bill – you are scum. And the media should be ashamed of burying you and trying to make out Hillary as evil. But I can get you a posting home at a place called DU – Democraticunderground – I’m sure you will be – if not already are – a hero to them.

uuuh, aren’t all terrorists, especially unrepentant ones supposed to be in Gitmo? I guess Bill knows Barky has ‘got his back’ now and Ayers has a conduit to preach to the masses through Barky. It’s just gonna go downhill from here.

Bring it on Ayers, you sorry sack of …….!

He should consider himself lucky that he’s only getting email instead of what he did.
One has to wonder if he’s going to the inaugural ball. Maybe he’s whining because he can’t go.

In “Bill Ayers Speaks Out” he says “We have to agitate for democracy and egalitarianism, learn to build a new society”…………………and……..
“….How to become the people we have been waiting to be”……
What does the last line remind me of?
“I am the person you’ve been waiting for” – BHO.

Well before Ayers was laying low. Having brought Ayers into the front of patriotic peoples thoughts will undoubtedly cause him danger. Too bad.

This gay and woman doesn’t remember him or his ilk fighting for my rights at any point along the road, so he doens’t have to start including my struggles for equal and full recognition in his political agenda. I think I stand a better chance with Sarah Palin, at least she probably woudn’t cross my picket line and that is more than I can say for Ayers’ friends.

How typical!
Ayers never took responsibility for his own actions, but he’s quick to call for Clinton and Palin to take responsibility for things they didn’t do.
Schoolyard bully.

This is appaling to me in so many ways.
First we, as a people, have “vindicated” a domestic terrorist.
Second.. the strategy of attacking the concerns of women in this campaign continues. Even now that they have “lost.”
Personally… I feel that Obama’s associations matter. From Ayers, to Wright, to McClurkin, to JayZ…. he has surrounded himself with people who hate women, gays, Americans of every stripe…. and yet *we* voted him into office.
I think this says worlds about how much Americans hate themselves. How low their self-image is, following the GWB presidency.
It’s as if we wanted to be hated and abused…. for yet another 4 years. As a way to pay for our sins.

I wasn’t born until the 70’s and never paid much attention beyond bare narrative to the events of the 60’s. This whole election has made me revisit that time with much closer attention. Ayers is one of the creepiest people I have ever come across.
Like this article – it’s a tissue of lies, posturing as innocent, posturing as a victim, tearing down and demonizing others, lying about who he is and his own history. Yuck!
He’s a total sociopath. You know what a good and relevant read for these times is – The Sociopath Next Door, by Martha Stout.
Really not looking forward to Ayers with a high profile or any influence at all.
“I am the person you’ve been waiting for” – BHO.
He is the kind of person I always try to avoid – lying, manipulative, no insight, no compassion, no interest in others, always full of excuses for himself, has to be right has to control, has to blame others, literally thinks he is god’s gift and that people (who he doesn’t even know) have been waiting for him – why would I be waiting for that? But oh well!
