Obama and the child molester he looked up to

The National Enquirer sheds a new light on a relationship described in Obama’s book

In his 1995 memoir Dreams from My Father, Obama identifies his childhood mentor only as “Frank,” but Obama insiders later confirmed he was referring to Davis, a journalist and poet who was a pal of Obama’s maternal grandfather, Stanley Dunham.

one wouldn’t expect the Enquirer to deal with books but this is what it took to uncover Obama’s mentor

For seven years, the presidential candidate had a “father-son” relationship with Frank Marshall Davis, who has confessed to having sex with children, sadomasochism, bondage and practicing a wide array of deviant sexual activities.

Lucky everyone here writes books about themselves

Frank Marshall Davis admitted in his private papers that he had secretly authored a hard-core pornographic autobiography called Sex Rebel: Black, published in 1968.

In his shocking tell-all, Davis admits to seducing a thirteen year-old girl, voyeurism, exhibitionism, bisexuality, rape and sadomasochism.

And how does this guy appear in Obama’s book?

Barack describes how Frank Davis had a lasting effect on him and became a father figure over the seven years they knew one another on the tropical island.

In Dreams from My Father, Obama wrote: “He would read us poetry whenever we stopped by his house, sharing whiskey with Gramps out of an emptied jelly jar.

“As the night wore on, the two of them would solicit my help in composing dirty limericks.”
Obama described being counseled by Frank often and recalled drinking whiskey with him.

How do we know that this is a story?

Since Frank Davis has been identified as the author of Sex Rebel: Black, Obama has been extremely secretive about the true nature of his experience with the self-admitted deviant.

Got it! Not the “Frank” I used to know.

And as a personal note – I have hesitated  to blog this. Then I remembered watching this again yesterday, from Michelle “downright mean” Obama and what’s good for the goose, is good for the gander.

After all, it speaks of the millieu Obama grew up in better than anything. The man on whose behalf people want a sonogram of Sarah Palin’s baby. The man on who brushed his shoulders of Hillary.

He grew up with and admired a child molester. Drank with him and considered him a mentor. Not unlike, later, he considered rev Goddamn America Wright a mentor.

These are the facts. I don’t make further speculations, and don’t blame me for your own.

  • I’m sorry: what are you saying? That between the ages of 10-17 Obama knew what this guy was getting up to and is somehow implicated in it?

    To quote Gawker:

“[C]hild Obama should have known this would happen, using the same clairvoyant powers that would have allowed him to know Davis was a perv years before anyone else knew he was a perv. For shame!”

Or are you saying that you think that the relationship might have gone further. The article doesn’t say or even imply this, but I’m looking at the Michael Jackson reference.

Assume for the sake of argument that this was so. What would that mean, exactly? That a child was sexually abused….or doesn’t that matter to you? Are victims of abuse now fair game for the right? Is that right-wing “humor”? I’ve always wondered what that was like and now I know.

It sure looks that way, judging by the reaction above and elsewhere. And I’m surprised I’m not more surprise.

  • Maybe this is why Obama wanted to be a community organizer….Out in the neighborhood with the kids….

  • Nutroots,

Indeed, it would be tragic if Obama was sexually abused as a child. I feel safe in saying no one here would take joy in that. Child abuse is in no way amusing or a subject for satire. I believe the reference is more aimed at Obama’s grandfather for putting him in close proximity with a pervert that drank whiskey with the boy. It goes a long way to explain some of Obama’s mental state (NPD). Obviously he was psychologically abused as a child – being abandoned by both parents at a young age and subjected to such abysmal role models. It truly is sad, and I feel bad for him and his children as well (look at what they’re being exposed to at such young ages – awful for any child, as I’m sure Chelsea Clinton would attest to as well as Caroline Kennedy).

That being said, it does n0t mean I believe he has the right to subject the entire nation to his neuroses and proclivities (sorry, but every day Larry Sinclair sounds more and more credible to me, and there has never been any clear explanation of when exactly Obama quit using illegal drugs, if ever).

  • So, you’re hoping that it turns out that Obama was molested as a child so it benefits your political agenda.

You and your kind are sick, perverted animals.

  • Geek,

No, not all all. Please read my comment more carefully. We’re not the “New Democrats” who say anything’s OK as long as it benefits my guy.

My experience says that people have a tendency to assume others will act or react in much the same way that they themselves would (especially people they do not know). So what does it say about you and “Teh Nutroots” that this is the first place your minds went?

  • Teh Nutroots seems to be missing the point that Grandpa took his grandson to this man’s house and introduced him to his philosophy of life and whiskey and that Barry/Barack was so impressed with him that he hung around for seven years drinking in that philosophy, and whiskey, and called him a “father figure” in his autobiography.

Either grandpa was blind to his friend’s faults or they didn’t bother him. But it is up to the man Obama to reject his relationship with Frank Davis and he hasn’t, calls him a “father figure”, another one of those “mentors” with dubious reputations.

How you got “Are victims of abuse now fair game for the right?” from this article is unclear because it was focusing on an unrepentant pervert entertained young children with liquor being considered a “father figure.” If Obama was a victim he certainly does a good job of not blaming his abuser, doesn’t he?

  • Karol
That was the inference I took as well.

  • Teh Nutroots
He was implicated one way or another. At the very least, he looked up to a child molester.

  • [...] Not Your Sweetie hesitated a couple seconds before posting about it.  A truly bizarre discussion ensues in the comments section. [...]

NO QUART has the documents up showing the meeting Michelle organized which featured Ayers and O…

I’m thinking we need a PAID HALF-HOUR from the RNC/McCain camp to bring ALL the Obama crap out…maybe in the form of a drama, like Land and Order or CSI??

We went a little literary today…A short, snappy literary excursion by guest poster American Lassie on some of the main characters in the ACORN-mortgage affairs…

    Shakespeare, Warlocks and Barack Obama…

You’ll like how the quotes are used to describe certain politicos…

    Sorry, that’s NO QUARTER

  • Smearing someone based on who they hung out with as a ten-year old then. You’re not unambiguously evil, just bizarrely irrational and pathetic.

Guess that birth certificate story didn’t work out for you, did it? And say hello to your fellow bigot, Andy Martin, for me.

Really, anyone who’s a proud owner of a book by Andy “Exterminate Jew Power” Martin shouldn’t whine when they’re called out for being the racist nutjob they are.

  • Right-wing reaction to Palins that had consensual teenage sex and babies: they were children, they made some mistakes, it shows character that they lived up to those mistakes, how dare you inject that into this campaign, the left wing is primarily composed of animals.

Right-wing reaction to Obama’s surely unwitting childhood association with a sex predator: definitely an issue, definitely fair game, disqualified from the presidency.

  • That anyone who pretends to be a feminist would take delight in the alleged sexual molestation of any child, male or female, sickens me. It also exposes the blogger as a sick, twisted fraud.

Okay, enough of all you idiots who have no idea what it is like to be subjected to abuse. I was, and I will tell you right now that it changes your world. For some it changes it for the better, and for some, it darkens it immensely. I don’t see anyone saying that Bo was abused. I will tell you that if he was, the chances would be quite high that he would also abuse, without intervention. That is a sad FACT, not political tripe from any corner. If he wasn’t abused, but simply hung with an abuser, then we are simply adding another bad character to his Christmas Tree with theb black Jesus on top. He may pick poor role models in adult life, because he was subjected to poor role models in childhood. Either way, they are decidedly poor role models! What does it take to see that!

Please try to look cooly and conscienciously at this man. He was dumped by his father, but wrote books about him. He was raised by his white family, but went to Chicago to find out how to be a black man. He becomes a Christian, but does so in a church that disavows any God who will not help that black man subjegate his enemy, the white man.

Every step in Barack Obama’s adult life has been in direct contadiction of those who helped him, let’s not exclude Alice Palmer. Being thrown under BO’s bus became a campaign joke. This is what you really want to put in charge of our country for four years? At the very least, don’t be surprised that so many of us are set, strongly, against him.

  • Barbara
Both the abuse and the delight are in your mind, so, please own your conclusions from it.

  • EOF – Every time I think I can not be more shocked by Obama and his real life story, I find I am wrong again.

This is a terrible thing to find out about anyone, much less a Presidential candidate.

I continue to believe that any candidate for President should have to undergo a psychological exam to make sure he/she is mentally and emotionally equipped for the job. Just think of the awful Presidents we would have been spared had this policy been in place.

At the very least, we would be celebrating President Al Gore’s second term. I doubt Nixon would have made the cut either. And when exactly did Reagan become ill with Alzheimer’s?

  • To write a sequel to warrior princess: he was elevated to power by the Democrats, but then he governed as a Reagan Republican.

  • So I presume by the off the wall comments all day from the Leftist Loonies (especially calling this sight one from the Right) that the current Oborg meme is to post a bunch of silliness accusing everyone that doesn’t support Obama of being some sort of cruel, uncaring, racist (of course), evil Republican – so of course how could you possibly vote for John McCain, just look at these people.

For anyone with more than 2 brain cells we’ve made it perfectly clear that we are not laughing at child abuse, are not saying that Obama was sexually involved with Frank Marshall Davis, did not even get into a discussion of Bristol Palin’s sex life, and cannot imagine how anyone would know what books we own and whether or not we are proud to own them.

Truly what I would point out to anyone that has been pointed to this site by these commentors is that there really isn’t anything that’s off the table for Obama supporters. Take anything at all, from the creation of the universe to what you ate for lunch, and they’ll show you how it makes you a racist and how Obama is the only one that can possibly fix it with his magic change powder or hopium dust.

  • Yeah. It WAS the first place my mind went because that’s the narrative fostered by your reference to Michael Jackson and implied throughout your comments and by the right wingers who picked up the story. What it says about me is: unimpressed by people who automatically resort to smears when they’ve run out of other options.

Next time you hesitate to post something, go with your better judgment, if any.

As for taking your blog for a “right wing” site, as my mom used to say: “if you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas.”

It’s not like after reading your post I was going to spend any time trying to parse the difference between a wingnut, a PUMA, and a credulous and angry person programmed to believe every story about Obama reflects discredit on him.

  • First, I like the cartoon, and second, you sure are taking a lot of heat for this. I like the observations of warrior princess and Mike J.. I think it is going to be a disaster.
