update with a joke:
Comedy writer Patrick Gorse: “Barack Obama announced on Tuesday that he supports federally funded faith-based initiatives. This is kind of self-serving when you consider that supporting a one-term Senator for president is itself a faith-based initiative.”

RIP separation of church and state -
Obama to Support Expanding Bush’s Faith Programs
Reaching out to evangelical voters, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is announcing plans that would expand President Bush’s program steering federal social service dollars to religious groups and — in a move sure to cause controversy — support their ability to hire and fire based on faith.
So that’s who he was to replace those racist democrats with! Evangelicals! And religion is no longer just a personal guide – but he intends to “do the Lord’s work”
“In time, I came to see faith as being both a personal commitment to Christ and a commitment to my community; that while I could sit in church and pray all I want, I wouldn’t be fulfilling God’s will unless I went out and did the Lord’s work,” he was to say.
Oh, goodie, since he’s doing the Lord’s work, that means God selected him as a nominee, right?

Where’s your “progressive” candidate now ,
ers?

I am so relieved to know that Mr. Obama will be doing his god’s will.
I hope that’s not the same god that Rev. Wright is doing the will of. I mean… talk about chickens coming home to roost! Ouch.
Maybe if it is the god of Saddleback… only the gays will be hurt. And the women.
Instead of the whole lot of us being blown to smithereens.
